Not a terrible alt mode. From the front it looks ok. Most transformers show their robot mode parts in their alternate transformation. That said, the price of most masterpiece for the quality is not matched any more. hasbro/takara's siege line has shown that we can get good transformers for reasonable prices with masterpiece-alike tooling. I do hope beast wars gets some love though, its a great series. 

Easily the best we have seen so far. The two Beast Wars toys we got were nice, but not very accurate to the show.
