Energon Storm Jet

I left mine like that (using the angles), until I saw Remy's pics.

There's no getting around it, the Takara version used the smooth side, and Hasbro's used the segmented side. I prefer the smooth.

Ditto. My knees don't bend two ways. So it just makes more sense for Storm Jet's to bend back on the smooth side. It took me all of five minutes to fix it, and his legs bend easily, without force, one way. :thumb

You actually dont have to use a whole lot of pressure to bend the knees. It's just the fisrt time you do it there is a fear that you may break his legs.

I'm just saying I've done it, and it still seems unnatural. The leg switch was nothing for me and I prefer it. Meh, to each knee his own. :thumb

I Just got this guy and the knees ARE NOT BACKWARD! Yes when you initially try to bend the knees the flattened edge does stop you but with a little force the knees click back in 2 optional positions. 45 degrees and next 90. SO DONT go unscrewing and rearranging his legs. The knees on mine are a lot stiffer than if I were to rearrange the parts.

After I saw AutobotMaximal's pic I got the courage to just go for it and force the knees back and they now work just fine. G1 has taught us to be too careful with our transformers. Now we aren't able to except the fact that Transformers are 10 times more durable than the were in the 80s.

Seibertron.com has a picture gallery of the Super Link version of Storm Jet. The SL version's knee joints are assembled so, that the rounded side is facing backwards and the edged side is facing forwards thus allowing the knee to bend.

That's backwards? I thought that was the right way his legs went...

Anyway, the guy's Storm Jet is Mistransfomed a little(I thought I'd point that out, since ppl complain about that on a regular baisis here). His feet aren't transformed, and his pelvis is in "Superion" mode.

I did the modification yesterday and now the knees bend nicely. What I noticed that the black hip pieces in my bot have been misassembled, too, since the screws holding the hip halves together are facing forwards in robot mode. Ok, now you say that I mixed those, when putting the bot back together. No, I didn't detach the halves with the spring assembly at all, when changing the knee joints. Only the halves, which have the screw holes. I guess i have to switch the hips too. :tftongue

What's the deal with this transformation of him?:

His pelvis is in Superion Mode, and his legs are backwards. Does this site mistransform their TFs a lot?

Okay, everyone ignored me...

That's a downer...

:tfsad

TFU are normally quite good, Lazerblast. I guess they just messed up this time.

I got my Storm Jet today, and his knees were flat-side back. I unscrewed and changed it round and am now much happier with it. In my opinion, this is obviously some sort of factory error on the part of the production companies.

WHOOPS! When this thread first started I swapped the shins on mine and thought you guys were full of crap. ^_^;;; My bad, apparently I completely blanked out when it came to swapping the UPPER legs as well. Just did that last night when I came across this again and now Storm Jet isn't such a bad figure in my eyes anymore ^_^ Compared to the other two gestalt teams, Superion still sucks, but the individual bots are still nifty.
