New Megatron and Optimus package!

yea. it's the larger versions of E prime and Megatron but i don't have a camera to take pics. I currently went to another toyrus and they had the pack. The pack just has a little handle(to carry both boxes) on top with a sticker on that says special value, compare to $78.70. I would take pics if could though.

I just posted this in response to a message on the toy thread:

I just saw this pack today at my local Wal-Mart here in Montoursville, Pennsylvania -- but also got a MAJOR run-around when I tried to buy it.

Apparently it wsn't in their systems, so I asked an associate for help. They didn't know how much it was supposed to be, so they go the Assistant Manager. After some "attitude" when I told him that they sell for $39 seperately, but have heard that Hasbro might be doing a "Buy One, Get One Free" with them (like the $20 figures Ironhide and Jetfire and didfferent Star Wars promos) he actually took it upon himself to SEPERATE the boxes with a knife and scan each toy in individually!!

And yes, they scanned in at $39.93 each -- just like I told him they would. Rather than making a few phonecalls, he proceeded to WHEEL AND DEAL with me! He first told me he could *probably* sell them for $70. I protested, said that wasn't even remotely a "Mega Deal" as the box claimed. He then lowered his asking price to $65 -- still now where near what Hasbro probably wanted, and I just ditched the cart with the figs in the Care Bears isle.

Ridiculous. They were bundled together BY THE MANUFACTURER for a reason -- not so some manager could seperate them and name his asking price!

Now I am definetely mad!

Wonder if it's Mouthimus Prime or Faceplateimus Prime...Either way, both are great toys. [THREADJACK]Does anybody have both the TRU Megatron/Prime set and the Superlink versions? I wonder if there are any differences. I waited for the TRU ones personally.[/THREADJACK]

I want to belive it but I need pictures.

maybe you shoulda wheeled n dealed back - "Hey tell ya what, you give em to me for the price that it says here, or i go talk to your boss about this side deal you're trying to pull."

you can't sell something at walmart that isn't in the system (and if you could, which (hell) could be a possibility, that's not what he was doing), so he was probably gonna pocket the money.

Yeah, the manager was :tdown

There is obviously a reason why they were shrinkwrapped together.

Got Rhinox and Terrorsaur yesterday shrinkwrapped with a Mini-Con 3 pack. The cards were also taped to eachother. This to prevent toy stores from cutting it loose easily and selling both toys seperately.

Tempting idea. :tftongue Fortunately they did not so I got both sets for 10 Euro each. (Yes, that is a sale considering Armada Maxcons costs 20 Euro and Mini-cons retailed at 10.) Sol it is a huge sale by Dutch standards.

Supposedly the toy gal "forgot" to scan them in when they stocked last night. The manager wasn't going to pocket the money -- he just manually punched in the price as $65 or $70. Now all of the ones they get in will probbaly scan at that. :(

What kills me is that he acted like I was trying to hustle him because I suggested that they might be "Buy One Get One Free" -- which it turns out that they ARE. :tfmad

I wish I had a way to prove to them that the sets are supposed to sell for $40-45 and get them to reprice it. I've been holding off on E-Megs and Prime because I figured I could get them cheap if I waited, just like A-Prime. This *seemed* like the ideal time to scarf them up...

Faceplate Prime, I'm assuming. They were both in the red boxes.

They're still selling Armada in the Netherlands? Wow.

FYI, I picked up my Rhinox for $2 USD at KMart last spring. ;)
