New Beetle Bumblebee project

Recommended Posts

My next project (after my Beast Machines Arcee) is gonna be a Bumblebee Alternator.

I'm trying to create a digital mock-up of what I have in mind, but I cannot find a picture of the New Beetle from the top down. (above, looking down at the car)

If any of you can help me locate a pic like this, I would very much appreciate it. Good shots of the inside(s) of the door(s) would be helpful, too, but not a -major- necessity for my mock-up(s).

Yellow is preferred for this, but any color except black or white should be fine. (it's very difficult to digitally recolor black and white objects)

Thanks!

Edit: I uploaded it instead

You are the freakin' MAN! :D

Thank you VERY much! :clap

yeah, itt was hard finding the damn pic. Too bad I couldn't find a higher res one for you. :wave

good luck on your bash

Dark lord Prime if your trying to use the roof as the chest be carefull I used the roof as the chest and he`s too tall in bot mode about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch taller than the rest of the Alternators. But maybe you can figure something out that I couldn`t.

Was your Beetle model a 1:24?

And yeah, I've got a couple ideas for compressing the top of the car down for his chest, one of 'em I thought of while getting ready for work this morning. :thumb

The rear fenders (possibly more) are planned to become his shoulders, and what I thought of this morning is, his rear window folds down into the chest (under/against the roof), then his head comes out of the trunk/hatch, and the trunk/hatch lid moves down/forward to fill in the chest a little, while the head rests on that. (subject to modification once I get the model out and start going over it)

If the windshield proves to be a problem, I may look into cutting it in half, attaching each half to one of his legs, and using them as leg-armor.

Either that, or try to arrange it so it folds up and under the front edge of the roof slightly.

Eh.. I'll figure it out when I get there. ;)

Yes DLP it was the Tamiya 1:24 VW New Beetle model kit and it is molded in a light yellow aready so you just have to put on like 1 or 2 coats. If you look close at my pic Idid fold the entire rear section back and attatched Smokescreen`s arms in the wheel well. I think Smokescreen is the best to use for this kb as his parts work well with many different transformations.

okay. keep in mind that the original bumble bee was 'squished" in car form. take a look at his car mode, and take a look at the original beetle. DLP, you may have to do likewise.
