Hardest Transformers to transform

Recommended Posts

Ultimum Prime: Most BTs don't paint chip. The first Smokescreen did have some issues with paint chipping, but Takara fixed that improved the durability of their paints with all subsequent BTs.

Also, this is not the only board/thread where I have heard these complaints about Alternators' panels not fitting in properly and so forth, problems which BTs don't seem to have. From what I've read, Alts like Battle Ravage and Shockblast are inferior constructions compared to their BT counterparts. I picked up Alt Wheeljack (I intend to use him for a custom - Alternator Slicer!) and he is greatly inferior to my BT Wheeljack in so many ways.

Anyway, getting back On Topic... I agree that BT/Alt Grimlock/Wheeljack is really hard to transform. The inherent difficulty with this transformation scheme is that it's counter-intuitive.

False, pretty much ALL BTs figures have paint chipping problems to some degree. Transform them numerous times and you'll see. Something that will never happen with an Alternator even after the 1000th transformation. And my BT Skids suffers from misaligned panels. It's funny to see people trying to defend Takara so hard.

No, they don't, thanks.  I've got at least one version of all molds of BT so far, and the only one with serious chipping issues is Sideswipe, where his hood meets the front....and maybe Tracks, because it's plain inevitable, but everyone else is fine.  I still don't know why everyone Protectobots about Hound's shoulders scratching, that's never been a problem.

I don't know what the heck you people DO with your BTs to get so many chips.  Do you transform them with your eyes closed or something?

I've never had that big of a problem getting to robot mode. It's always going back to the alt mode that seems to throw me off.

Mach Kick gets my vote for #1. he's still a pain in the ass and I've transformed him hundreds of times.

TM2 Megatron get's #2. You have to have every piece moving at the same time it seems. It makes for a mess when transforming him.

Rampage *is* a pain if you're not familiar with him. that tank mode... oy.

Once you *do* get it, it looks sweet, of course. Everything just has to be in exactly the right spot, though.

RiD Sideburn wins the prize for me since he's a *deluxe*. It's rare to have that level of complexity with such a small toy.

Yeah.. Mach was a pain the first few times, but hey.. shell formers were always a bit of a pain.

But so far, i've yet to run into a single transformer that's really hard to deal with.  Here on my computer desk i have my only two Alts,(I buy then cuz well.. it's cheeper, I can pay 30 for a Alt or 60+ for a BT... I'll go for 2 alts in that case), Sideways and hound, C Prime, 20th Prime, C Leo, C Flame Convoy/Scourge, C Hotshot, C Vector, C NitroConvoy & C Sideways, C runamuck and E Arcee.

I can transform the whole lot in tops.. 10 minutes (givin a additional few min to 20th prime cuz he's so massive it takes few extra seconds to manipulate him.

Hardest time i had was with BW Optimal Primal / Rampage, least the first time out as i'm not a instruction boy.

Though if you want tuff, G1 had it in spades.  Ala Trcipricus or that BLOODY 6 changer Sixshot.  Without instructions he was a PIA as  you wern't sure what went where for what mode due to the rough single coloring of him.

But tbh.. Most aren't that bad once you get past that first time transform, vast majority of em are easy if you look at it logically.

but that me and prolly after 20+ years of transforming TF's I've just gotten into thinking like the TF designers.
