Recommended Posts

Yesterday, we posted the news that two members James "Brad Mick" McDonough and Adam Patyk have departed from Dreamwave. We now can confirm our source of news from a direct response by McDonough and Patyk themselves that will best explain reasons behind their departure.

yeah.

Almost seems, while newsworthy, like something that is litigation, and should be kinda kept private for a bit, outta respect to both parties.

Ah well, 1st amendment, vs discrection.

The age old debate in all journalism.

actually wheeljack, they never said that was the reason for them leaving, they said there was a "dispute with Dreamwave REGARDING our departure"

meaning they are leaving but dw still owes them money, not that they are leaving because dw owes them money

Is it just me or is that extremely awkwardly worded? Especially for a publicity statement, made by writers - dont they usually try to aim for that aproximate illusion of grammar. and structure.

welcome to legalese.

McD&P "We have a dispute with Dreamwave regarding our departure"

- How are these guys paid, upfront or upon completion? From this statement, I can't figure who is in the right, and who is in the wrong.....

Paid upon completion, often times with a royality check following a few months later (dependent on sales.) I do professional comics work from time to time.

Sounds to me like there was a dispute over royalties, and that perhaps they're chasing after DW for them.
