Still, how many ways would there be to re-mold this? A hardtop would be nice, but where would it go in robot mode?

See Overdrive/Windcharger...

On a sidenote, I wonder why none of the Swindle haters have complained he "was supposed to be Trailbreaker" yet...

And as to the purple Speedo, well either break out the model paint (as I plan to do) or just rename him Steve-O and have him play nutball with Meister.

I'm down with that. :lol

I think for me, the thing is that Dead End looks a lot different from Sideswipe. Swindle does look like a yellow Hound. But as you said, I don't know what they could have really done about that.

Still, how many ways would there be to re-mold this? A hardtop would be nice, but where would it go in robot mode? I own Hound, and imaginative as I am I have no idea what you'd do with the top if he had one. Personally Id go the Towline route and have the top turn into a little tank/scout thingy, but the masses seem to hate those for some reason.

The only other thing you could do to remold the Jeep is go with a Wrangler Unlimited, that extended length Jeep. But then, that'd throw the whole transformation off and he'd have to be totally reengineered.

So I ask all you Swindle haters, if stock Wrangler to tricked out version isnt good enough, what would YOU do? And think it thru, the I'd-give-him-a-top-in-jeep-mode thing with no plan for robot form just dont cut it.

"So I ask all you Swindle haters, if stock Wrangler to tricked out version isn’t good enough", ah putting on a brush guard and bigger wheels (they're not big) doesn't count as "tricked out" to me.

To me there was quite a bit they could have done, now I’m not a big truck/SUV fan but I love watching automotive programs and one of those said programs is a show called Trucks on SpikeTV and I have seen what they have done with Wranglers, from adding on bigger fender fleers, putting on a real lift kit, removing the standard doors and putting doors made out of tubing to putting in sports seats to removing the stock bumpers and putting on some real heavy duty bumpers made out sort iron.

All I’m saying is Takara/Hasbro just went the easy route with make Swindle and short from the new head he very much just feels like a yellow Hound.

Believe me, as a 5 time Jeep owner, I know well and good that theres almost no limit to what you can build yours into. But Im saying in terms of what's *feasible* on an alternator. I'd have liked to see tires a LOT bigger than Swindle's, but while the rears are no problem, the front still uses the same basic (stupidly designed) transformation as the original. They'd have to seriously re-engineer that setup in order to get anything else to work.

Youre right, there wasnt a lot done to remold him. But given his transformation, I dont think there was a lot else that could be done. Although re-doing the rear section of the rollbar to the classic triangle shape, and adding a pre-runner style bed mounted spare would've been nice. Axing the doors would've worked too.

Im not a big fan of the top being a shield. And a Jeep's top is a LOT bigger and clunkier than the one on the S2000. Although, maybe it could break apart into a flight pack, shield and big ass cannon or axe, that would work...

As to the Trailbreaker thing, I think there are a lot more closet Streaker fans out there than TB. That, and if you know Has/Tak and their love of repaints like most of us, it'll eventually get built.

Ill tell ya one thing I plan to do with my Swindle when I get him, in his inherent re-do into my Outrider character, and thats add a small motorcycle trailer with E-Highwire on it. Im thinking of using an extra Strongarm axe, and another gun or something to make it from, so that not only does Outrider get a big ass battle axe and a *real* gun, the trailer isnt just some stupid 'dead' accessory that just sits aside when he's in robot mode.

"But minicons dont go with alternators!" you say. I agree, but a dirtbike just naturally goes with a Jeep. Besides, I really wanted to scratchbuild a matching one of those army jeep style trailers:

to go with him, and break apart into all kinds of cool weapons and stuff, like my where-would-his-top-go solution above, but my modeling skills arent QUITE that advanced yet.
