Transformers pinball machine by Stern?

Recommended Posts

The price is so high because Hasbro/Paramount charge a huge amount for the licensing fees. Six grand tho? Thats more than the Tron LE that just came out. Hopefully Stern learns from all the problems the Tron tables had (even LE which is stupid) so that TF gets a better product.

Until I actually see the table layout and the intricacies of how the loops/ramps/bonuses work, I'll reserve judgement. $6k is a bit high though.

The good news is that George Gomez (The guy in the video.... designer of Monster Bash, Lord of the Rings, Johnny Mnemonic)is designing the machine, and pretty soon Stern won't be the only major pinball manufacturer, so in order to compete they'll have to up their game. That means the toys in this one might actually be pretty good instead of just having static toys in the game. In the video it looks as if he's playing with one that would actually transform. I am still cautiously optimistic.

So is Bally or Williams getting back into the silver ball? Or is it a whole new company?

Nope not them. He is refering to Jersey Jack Pinball who are making a Wizard of Oz table.

I haven't had a problem with any of the newer Stern designs, so I wouldn't worry so much about that. The only one I didn't like was the NASCAR/Dale Jr table. All others (even World Poker Tour) is pretty good, especially Family Guy.

Tada! It looks great! It'll probably fall into the $4700 - $5000 range since it's using older hardware.

One of our local collectors who has hosted a few gatherings at his house and owns a bunch of pinball machines already has one these on order. So after he gets it I'm sure he'll have the gang over to give it a workout. I'm already looking forward to that!

Wouldn't mind having that in my house. Doubt I will be able to save up before buying other stuff first
