DOTM Shockwave

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried swapping the forearms of Shockwave? I want him to have the whole left arm cannon thing and was wondering if anyone had attempted it yet.

I have been wanting to try it myself, but have not had the chance. It looks like it will work, but the hose will be a little awkward in the back in bot mode.

Peaugh already went over this in his review, I thought. I forget why but he said it might not be possible, I think.

No. It's not possible because of the cable. The port where it plugs in only goes to the right and the cable isn't far enough to reach around. Plus on the cannon end, there's a groove on the lower left where the cable wraps around. It's all in the way it was designed. If the groove was on both sides and the port on the back swung 180 degrees, then it'd be more likely to be done. But they went off the movie design which has it on his right arm.

Honestly, I don't mind, and I already am mildly irked by the fact that when plugged in, the arm won't go as far down as possible. The cable is too stiff so it lifts the arm a little outward. But that's just me being picky.

I just have the cannon end of the cable plug into his shoulder. It retains the same effect of leading power into the gun arm, while sacrificing no poseability.

I do the same. I just can't get the cable into the backpack very easily and it always pops out when I move the arm. So it stays in the shoulder instead.

And actually, I was playing with him some more today and I found a kickass way to transform him into his tank. If you take his Mechtech gun and retract it all the way, you can slide it between his arms in alt mode. The thumbs on the fingers will grip some edges on the bottom of the gun, and they grip really well, too. The only way the gun will become dislodged is if you tilt it up and then pull it out. To remedy this I just put his cable from the cannon to his right side hind port and then peg the blade onto his right arm such that it lays over the cable. This holds the gun down securely and makes for a kick ass, sturdy tank with the cannon centered.

I also leave his toes and kneecaps in the robot mode configuration, they make the tank look more interesting that way and fill in some gaps.

Pics please.

I think Madman had some pics where he was doing something similar in the Action Pose thread. For the moment I don't have my camera.

Found it and it looks awesome. Will try this when I get home tonight.

Thanks.
