Awesome pics madman :clap I updated the news story now to include those as well :thumb Now I really need to find a Steamhammer, I was considering buying two of the basics and Steamhammer to do this but I wasn't sure if it would look good, damn this is gonna be expensive :D

Madman: How is Storm Jet? Does his cockpit peg stay in?

Madman:  How is Storm Jet?  Does his cockpit peg stay in?

I like Storm Jet and Superion but the peg is a real pain, not so much with Storm Jet alone, it still does pop out but not as much as when he's Superion. I haven't tried the clear nail polish thing yet to see if that helps but if I had to guess I'd say that'll only help very slightly if at all. The peg is really, really small and the hole it goes in is more like a horse shoe shape so it doesn't stay in well at all.

Another pain is attaching the legs to Superion. The upper legs pieces are Storm Jet's lower legs that just slide up, so when you try to get a good grip on them to put the legs on they keep sliding back down. And I don't know if it's just my desk top but when posing him it's sometimes hard to keep him from doing the splits. I recommend using the Treadshots as arms because he has elbow articulation that way while Sky Shadow makes much better legs.

The arms are also kind of a pain to attach. Jet Storms arms fold up along the sides and his hands plug into pegs to keep them steady but when when you go to put the arms on sometimes you end up knocking them out and you have to keep re-aligning everything. One more thing that kinda bothers me is that the tail fins on Storm Jet and the big horns on Superions head are made of rubber which can very easily be stained over time.

Constructicon though is a bit nicer. His body is much more solid and attaching the limbs isn't as much of a pain, plus, his waist turns. Someone here mentioned making him with all sledges and I don't think thats as a good of an idea as it sounds. Sledge is pretty big and when you connect 2 of him as legs it's REALLY bulky, a bit too much. I connected the 2 Duststorms as legs and it worked out great, he can just about stand straight up! I think he'd probably look better with 4 Duststorms (and/or wideloads) as limbs.

When you unlock Duststorms crane from his body, as arms, it gives him great elbow joint articulation and you can open his upper/lower cab parts to make grabbers kinda like Omega Supremes. Again, this works great while Sledge just makes a big bulky non-articulated arm.

Overall I really like Constructicon Maximus, he stands up better, is much more solid and doesn't have all the minor flaws that Superion has. The only wierd thing is that Constructicons head sits on the folded in shoulders of Steamhammer, one side is fine but the other is just a ratchet joint which doesn't give the head a flat surface to rest on so his head will lean to that side if you don't keep straightening it up.

Gotta have these guys though! Though I probably won't mess with them much they display great and they're definitely worth the money.

I got the Japanese version of Storm Jet and believe me, the clear nail polish helps alot, def give a coat or two on the peg, it will make it alot more stable
