my "necessary" mods to Alt. Dead End

Recommended Posts

:wave Hey people, I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a while. Here is a pic showing some mods I made to my Alt. Dead End that I felt were "necessary" in giving him the right look.

1) First thing was to paint the hoodpins. Not really a mod, but it sure is necessary!

2) I don't know about everyone else's Dead End, but the front hood scoop on mine was molded with a really small slit for an opening. I took a hobby knife to it and opened it up more.

3) I know that he was meant to be Sunstreaker, but I can't bring myself to do a full conversion for some reason. So I figured id make this one the best I can. Being that Dead End is a decepticon, I thought I'd try to make him look a bit meaner. So I made some "eyelids" for the headlights out of clear tape painted black.

4) Using the same technique as above, I also gave him a visor on the windshield and on the rear window.

Here we go:

hood pins look good. :thumb

is he worth the money?

definitely worth the money

i like the painting and the opening of the hood slit, but I don't really like the tape on the lights and windshield

just me though

What paint did you use for the pins?

I don't really care for the "eyelids" the way you have them. He doesn't look evil, he looks sleepy.

Instead, I would suggest going from one corner to the other for a sharp angle. Also, I would suggest using a clear red paint to make the headlights look redder and even more evil.

Otherwise, sweet mods!

hmm, i wasnt aware of the repaints/mods section. ive only been here a few times, and the times ive been here it was in this section, so.... my bad, ill be sure to note that though.

the paint i used was "Mithril Silver" by Games Workship (warhammer folks). has a nice silver sheen to it.

That's mighty spiffy...I must say!

*completely absolutely off-topic* You're from Huntsville? :eek2 I go to UAH...small world! *on topic*

The paint mods looks good. The tape over the headlights don't really interest me. Otherwise: very good and I just might make the same mods when I get my DeadEnd in the mail.

there's also that trunk mod so you can open the trunk...all you do is remove the 3rd screw holding the trunk down... i forget where this mod was posted but it just gave my deadend a 3rd door in car mode.
