I was in walmart the other day and this huge curly redhaired guy looks at omega supreme and says "Jesuschrist! $40.00 for a toy?!?"

I was all like, they're Transformers NOT just TOYS! It was the first time i have seen someone else looking at transformers, Does anyone understand our love of these "toys"?!? UGGGGGGGG! :roll

Actually, the huge curly red haired guy was right... they really ARE just toys! No shame in buying toys though!

You know you are a diehard transfan when some little kid puts one you want and its the only one on the shelf, when he puts it down to go get mom, you take it and run like the wind, and if its something you REALLY want, you knock the kid over, strip it from his hands, hide it somewhere till you can go get money to get it, and run out the store before security is called.

I did do that once, take it after he put it down, and got caught, the mom was slightly miffed, gave me a dirty look, the kid started screaming, so to avoid a bigger seen, I gave it back to the kid.........had to wait another month before I could find it again. It was armada wheeljack.

but they are just toys... nothing more.. just toys... only many people like to collect them. i like to play with em though, so a $40 toy does seem a bit ridiculous if you dont care for collecting

40 bucks is a lot of money, though will end up cheap for here of course (I expect him like E Optimus to be 50-70 euro's (65-90$))

That's nothing. I saw E-Unicron at a local toystore for 700 SEK. That's $100! :eek :eek :eek :eek

I've not seen E-Omega Surpeme here yet, but I know he costs about £50, that's an awful lot for one TF.

Aside from vintage stuff and the 20th Prime, I can't see spending more than $30 to maybe $35 on a single bot. Armada Unicron was awesome, but I waited 'till I found him at half off, which brought him down to $25. That's more than reasonable, he's worth about $30 IMO. Same with E Omega Supreme. I'd pay maybe $30, if I was collecting Energon yet, or if he was a bit more G1 inspired like Unicron, but $50 is way too steep for me. Put him on clearance, I might bite. But not for fifty bucks.

(But I spent over $70 on a loose but complete G1 Mirage... go figure?)

To each his own, I suppose, since I bought both Unicron and Omega Supreme without complaint for 50 bucks a piece.

Well worth it, in my opinion.

Yeah, TEHO is true. Very true, indeed. I am really only collecting G1 and Alts right now, so it's rare that I see a new fig that isn't one of the TRU reissues that I am willing to pay for. If I was focusing on Energon though, I probably would drop big bucks on the big bots. Of course I'd be broke in no time... That's why I'm sticking to the older ones. They're harder to find, as there's not a ready supply at every store. They're also a bit more expensive for each one, so I'm pushed to hunt for bargains, since I display them all out of the package. As long as I avoid the Ebay spending binges, I keep my habit to an acceptable spending margin... God help me if I ever start collecting a current line.
