Review: PCC Icepick Figure

Recommended Posts

Time for another rounds of reviews! This time, we start off with another PCC 2 pack, featuring Icepick with Chainclaw. How does this arctic vehicle rate amongst the other PCC figures? Only one way to find out!

I really really want to like this. Icepick is one of my favorite obscure characters but this might be too much of a departure. I love the alt mode except for the unpainted windshield (seriously, wtf) but the robot mode's arms are just too spindly looking for me. Plus, I wish he would've kept a more G1 paint scheme (his inner robot, mostly red).

Well he is another easy pass

So Icepick's mini-con is basically Leader-1 from Armada? Lazy Hasbro, come on...

Strange, my figure does have a painted windshield. Looks like there are variations on Icepick. I agree that Icepick's best mode is his combined mode.

i really like this guy! i resisted for so long thinking his body looked too square, his arms too spindly and his hands useless. but all that changed when i got a glimpse of his head, and i dont mean the combined head (i think it looks a bit silly, what robot made of metal has a head made of ice?), it just goes to show that a small detail can really make or break a good figure

I'm really liking the PCC figures. My only (minor) complaint is it's really difficult to attach the Minicons as chest armor WITHOUT making it look like the Commander is doing something...inappropriate to the little guy.

But overall, really fun figures. I only have Leadfoot now, but I want more, if only for the Minicons. I also like how the Commander's standard heads look kind of dopey and boring, but their combiner heads look awesome. I pretty much refuse to display Leadfoot with his basic head; he's always wearing his Commander-mode head in my house.

Icepick looks the same way (though with his arms, HE should have been named "Chainclaw"). His second head looks pretty monstrous, combined with long, clawed arms he can be a Decepticon ice beast/monster or something.

I like the way this figure looks in his commander mode although I'm iffy about the shoulders.

The alt mode looks awesome.

I like the combiner head, just a nice monster look to it, the rest is just goofy.
