Quick review:

Not exactly sure how the HD console games play, but from the looks of things it appears you have the freedom to control your character and move around and transform at will.

I've been playing through the first few levels of the Autobot and Decepticon campaign, and the depression is setting in. You can't control the robots or transform at will. Not at all. At least the Wii RoTF game let you "transform" to do a special move. Not with this game. It's a shooter on rails and you go for the ride as the game moves on as you kill enemies. This game reminds me of Time Crisis or Virtua Cop. It goes from driving/flying stages when you shoot at your enemies to stages on foot when you duck/cover and fire at enemies waiting to kill you long enough so the game will move you on. What a fucking joke of a game. No wonder they kept the wraps on this turd.

Anyone who has a Wii, if you're curious, rent it or download it. This is by no means a purchase. Sad cause the Wii can definitely do so much more. Games like Mario Galaxy 2, Monster Hunter Tri, No More Heroes 2 and Red Steel 2 show the Wii has the power to pull off a better game. hell, even the first Transformers movie game was almost a carbon copy of it's PS3/360 counterparts. Activision just shitted all over Wii owners.

Here's a gamplay video I found.

EDIT:

I'd like to make a slight change on my opinion of the game. Having given it a second chance and a longer play through, I don't hate it as much. Having calmed down from my original disappointment and frustration, the game isn't a bad game. It is a letdown that there isn't any free roaming/exploration and transforming though. Its a very short game, about 4 hours of game-play perhaps. It's a rent, especially if you're a Transformers fan. If you must buy it, wait until it's marked down or used. It isn't worth the full retail price though. Especially since it's so bare-bones (no online, free roaming).

you should they got some good titles like Killzone 3 coming up but then again so does XBOX 360 I can't really tell which you should get as they both have problems but they're still better than the Wii :wave

Dude... they made it a rail shooter?? That sucks! And I really hate that it's contributing to the Wii's reputation as crappy system, because honestly it's (the wii) not that bsd.

Granted it doesn't have the raw power of a PS3, or the Online Service of 360 (Or Ps3, free is very nice) but Wii's got some seriously awesome games... granted they're hard to find under the mountain of 'Licensed Movie Games' and 'Family Minigames' CRAP that is 75-80% of the Wii's library, but they are there. Games like Madworld, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition... heck, even some of those Minigames collections are pretty good! Like Boom Blox; that game was crazy!

But does anyone buy them? No, they just buy Mario, and Zelda and then complain that there's no good games on Wii, seriously? WTF?

Anyway... sorry about that rant, I just had to defend the Wii's good points, sorry to get off topic.

But to get BACK on topic (@ PuertoRiCON): Personally I'm getting War For Cybertron for PS3; But as far as which system YOU should get, I'll tell you what I tell all the customers who come into my place of work: I recommend you look over the system exclusives.

Do you wanna play Halo, Gears of War, or Fable? Or would you rather play Killzone, God of War, or Uncharted? Etc, Etc... But remember that most games are Multi-Platform these days.

Also, bear in mind that the PS3 Doubles as a Bluray player, and the new peripherals coming out this fall (PS Move, and Xbox Kinect) and you should be good to go.

You also pointed out a lot of its flaws. And keep in mind that while both systems have good exclusive, 360 tends to steal exclusives from Sony, to my delight.

And 4RL, Sony announced at E3 that they were adopting a pay service for PSN. Sorry for your misfortune. :mwahaha :mwahaha :mwahaha

There is still going to be a free aspect of it but 360 has that too, its called Silver members.

Truthfully, screw buying a PS3 or a 360. I don't play games all that seriously like I did years ago. The Wii gives me enough bang for my buck. I'm not into multiplayer online crap. I like to fire up the system, play a quick game and be done in an hour. I hardly have enough time to play my Wii as is, and I don't think I will have the time to invest in another system. Some people may say PS3 or 360 are better than Wii, but I disagree. The Wii is my preferred system because it's best for me. What I like isn't always what someone else likes. We all have different gaming wants and needs. I like what I over all get on the Wii. I'm not big on shooters (though I have a couple FPS games like Conduit, Metroid 3, COD Modern Warfare RE) and prefer the titles that are exclusive to the Wii.

Some of the games do look cool for the PS3 ( and 360) but they just don't warrant a new purchase. We have a baby due in a couple of weeks, so my game playing time will definitely take a hit. I was looking forward to this new Transformers game cause hey, I like Transformers and I have a system the new game was going to be on. Damn you Activision for crapping on us devoted Wii owners. Oh well, I'll get over it. It is only a game.

If Tron proved anything, they are more then games! :tfevil

congrats on the baby, hope everything goes well.

Actually the way I understand it, if you don't buy the premium membership, nothing is really going to change. Premium Members will just get early access to some DLC, and some special deals and exclusives, but You'll still be able to play on-line for free. Cuz we all know what happens when you suddenly start charging for things that were free for most of their existence: People Stop using it. Windows Live, anyone? I note with interest that it's free now, too. :P

Anyway, here's an article about it for any Savy PSN users looking for confirmation: LINK

Anyway, sorry to get off topic again.
