Meh. Call me when they create a new spin off of Beast Wars that isnt Beast Machines. No disrespect to Beast Machines, just to Nightscream.

You know, I never did catch the end of Beast Machines. Some time between the defection of Rhinox and Optimus Primal becoming a damn dirty hippie (just kidding, hippies. I love what you've done with tie dye) I got busy and missed it. Therefore I can't really judge. For what I did see of the show, I was less than thrilled with the direction it was going. The idea of an organic Cybertron negates the entire premise of Transformers.

This looks fun, I've already got all the episodes of G1, but it'll be cool to watch all those other shows again. Not to mention the side benefit of having a quick reference point for those who misremember G1 being a lot better show than it was.

Smart...hook the parents along with the kids. I'm sure that'll work for me and mine! This is probably why Ms. Kaufman is the C.M.O.!

Also, whether positive or negative, her assessment of "the most popular activity is watching TV" among the "enormous amount of time parents are spending with their kids" is spot on! But what else would we expect of a generation RAISED on TV! ;)

Go back and watch dam near any 80's show, they sucked, all of them!

But they're camp, and that makes em fun :D

:thumb i agree. It's all about the campy fun factor. Take em too seriously and you've missed the point.

Yep, I'll take any '80s cartoon over the stiff, carefully calculated junk that's on TV today.

Plus, there were more then 3 art styles.

The 80s may have lacked substance, but it was a nice anything goes time for cartoons and toys :thumb

if you haven't already, go light one for this!

People who weren't there just don't understand, Saturday morning use to be worth waking up for, and homework was easily put off. There was literaly hours of this, with no computers or Japan making things generic with minimonsters that grow and card games!

It wasn't all good though...

or even worse

Still, even though 98% of it was pure marketing, in the 80's if you had an idea, chances were, you had a chance.

So yeah, shows like transformers sucked, but without all that stuff, we wouldn't be here today. Frig Optimus probably wouldn't even be able to transform unless you drew thw right card :P

I agree with some of that Leige, but not with the part of Transformers sucking! That all depended on which episode you were watching, because 50% of them are still awesome today!

There was still some great Japanese cartoons brought over at the time, that had nothing to do with pocket monsters or card collecting...Tranzor Z, Robotech, and Voltron were three I enjoyed, and all imported over (and heavily edited!!!) from Japan.

Other shows Transformers fans may have enjoyed were Herculoids, Thundaar, Robotix, Inhumanoids, M.A.S.K., Dino Riders, Mighty Orbots...and hell, even Jem was fun as long as your friends didn't find out, LOL!

The 80's knew how to entertain. These shows may seem cheesy to some now, but that's only because they're being viewed by people outside of their intended viewing ages.

sweet cant wait
