Yeah that was what I was going to say :thumb And the original bug design was decades old they didn't have a problem back then. And if you think about it they could actually switch the Binal Tech/Alternator idea around and just start making 1/24 scale G1 characters with their original alt modes intact with the possibility of the current bt/alts. The only thing they have to do to use the old vehicle designs is not put the original company’s name on the car.

 

So since the original VW Bug design is still a public domain I say just make him a old beetle. And my choice for a new car would be the new turbo SRT4 Neon it even has bug-eyed headlights. But I have to say the Shelby Cobra CSX 4000 would make one hell of an upgrade for Bumblebee so that was my vote. Hey they could use the new concept Cobra now that would be one badass upgrade. :thumb

Yeah he would be about the same size at smokey, but again these are new bodies for the characters as well. Look at poor Grimlock, now mind you the new Mustang is a very cool car, but he went to a body that is half the size of his original one.

 

But hell I still say just make him a original Beetle, VW can't do anything about it :eplus

Depending on the Transformation scheme He may not be the same height. if they make his legs like the the Dreamwave art where his front end are the feet/ knees and the thighs are right above the front end. Or maybe he could have a G1 Wheeljack transfomation where the hood covers his shins.

Not to sound like a G1 purist, if they want to make an Alternator BB, then they should choose a car that's small in relative size to the current ones, which are the size of what would probably be a deluxe TF. i.e. Alternator Sideswipe, if scaled down, would probably be the size and complexity as that of a normal TF deluxe figure. So BB would have to be the Alternator equivalent of a basic TF figure. :thumb

They have the licenses for a Dodge Ram and Neon.I thought they were going to use the Neon if they can't get the VW license.But as of yet I haven't heard anything.

so what if BB is the same size as the rest aslong as he looks like BB. i say make him the neon like the rumor says and screw vw, their lost, i mean only tracks is the same as he was, with hound being 2nd because atleast he's a jeep (different make and model). 2 out of 11..... oh i can hear it now. i don't like this amazing looking BB thats so acurate because he's the size of the rest.
