And now I'll add to the paranoia: My brother's friend ordered a Mesiter from Wal-mart.com and it arrived earlier this week ... sans one headlight cover.

 

 

Take it back! I mean, we paid good money for this stuff. They should at least look like the pictures. And yes they are collector stuff, I mean we collect them don't we???

Meh..Alternators=fun toys, easy to pose, more durable, no paint flaking.

 

BT=high prices, paint doesnt match the plastic, diecast weakens the structural integrity of the nearby plastics, hard to pose because diecast is too heavy, and paint flakes.

 

I own both, and Alternators are better.

Never had a problem with paint flaking from my BT's. The paint has matched on each and every BT I own with the exception of red Meister, and it sounds like just about everyone's having trouble with tpaint matchin on both red and white Meister, whether Alt or BT.

 

I own both Alt's and BT's of Sideswipe and Silverstreak, and in the case of Sideswipe I can't find a discernable difference outside of the nice diecast in the BT version. Alt Sideswipe is nicely put together, the plastic is a decent quality and it doesn't feel that much different from the BT. Alt Silverstreak, on the other hand, is lame. Cheap plastic, much too light-feeling compared to the BT, the parts fall off all over the place which has never been a problem with any of my BT's (until Meister, of course).

 

People's experiences with these seem to vary, but so far it seems that Takara puts a bit more effort into the plastics and the fittings of these figs than Hasbro does. Well, what a surprise.

i've no problem with my meister having some off shades, it's not going to end the world like i said he's still my fav, i mean he follow's me around like a my buddy doll, i think he's got some abandonment issues or something, and my tracks with different shades doesnt' bother me at all easily my sec fav, DE has dropped to 3rd, and soon to 4th..... anybody seen ol grim yet (':tfevil') ?

just be happy u have the toy and i strongly believe in you get what you paid for. if people are so concened with quality then takara should be the way to go.... if not then hasbro... if u cant decide then get both instead of arguing what is better or discolored or whatever. JUST BE HAPPY YOUR MEISTER DOESNT HAVE TEH PROBLEMS MINE HAS! if u look closely to the handbrake in the car its put in backwards. i blame hasbro quality control for this error.

 

 

other than this minor defect there is nothing wrong with the transformation of the toy and its white makes it look pure/clean to me. but then again this is my opinion. i just think its funny how people complained that meister was red so hasbro made him white... now people are complaining that the looks ugly n cheap. like i said... just be happy u found him. *since its white you can paint it whatever color u like now* now is the best time to be a tfan!

These pics are about to make my addiction come back. Any way, Does BT Meister come in a different inner packaging than the older BT's come in. I was looking at the figure on Ebay and it looked like it had no inner packing. I could see the car way more clearly than the older BT's.

there's no window on the inside of the box. i guess someone decided that it would be a better idea not to put the window... i thought it was weird... i guess people complained that the window was hard to keep nice so they just took the window out! *im only speculating so dont quote me on this* my alternators havent stayed in their boxes for more than a day so i really dont care for these boxes anyway...

my alt meister was missing a bunch of screws, but with the rarity of the toy and the fact that there was nothing else wrong with mine, i just replaced them with some i had from my toolbox.

 

the more i play with my alts, the more i like meister and i have really gotten to like dead end & sideswipe. when i first saw the red viper in stores i thought i would hate it, now i regret not buying it sooner.

 

also, the new packaging is WAY cheaper than the old style packaging. the box art is not as crisp, the cardboard feels cheaper, and the box isn't folded as sharply or as tight as the old style ones. funny, though, that my dead end came in an old style box- i thought he was one of the newest ones?

Be glad that u didn't pick up sideswipe. The Alt. verision of him sux. Not all his 4 tires do touch the ground. This is not an isolated incident as I have 2 and both are the same and other ppl on this forum has the same prob. However, my Blt. deadend, which is basically the same mold, does not have this problem.

 

Also, the Alt. started to come in this crappy box begining with Tracks and Meister.

 

When your Meister was missing screw you should have taken it back and or bought the Binaltech version.

 

Alternators just suck.
