He attacked every previous poster who suggested they would like some non-G1 MPs. His "apology" is not sincere and is instead a way of trying to get out of an argument he started without actually having to defend his "point" he made earlier with actual logic.

This is all about a choice of words with you. What I_G_W_T did was an attack, whether you agree with him or not. I admitted that what I did was an attack, but at least it was a lighthearted one instead of a vulgar, pointless garble.

 

That is the difference between maturity and juvenile - no matter what the subject matter or TF line anyone is talking about. One of the things I like about this board - is that there is far far more maturity on here when it comes to discussing differences of opinions.

 

If I'm juvenile for attacking an offender or defending my opinions, then so are you. All you are doing at this point is trying to insult me further without taking in my words in context.

 

Firepaw, just relax and show a little respect to everyone - no matter what they do or say. Try to take what someone says in the most positive, non-attacking way possible. Remember, we are all TF fandom - regardless of opinions or ages. You only have control over YOUR responce, not others. As the good book says, a soft answer turns away wrath.

 

I've shown plenty of respect by looking the other way when I see posts like the ones here. But it was only a matter of time before I couldn't take it anymore.

And now, this is a double edged sword. You tell me to respect other opinions, and to assume the best in everyone. Yet you won't do the same for me and my opinion.

 

 

Now, as I tried to express in the past two messages and my status message, I dislike hostilities. All I want is for other people to do as they preach, respect or don't be respected.

I will not, under any circumstances, respect someone like I_G_W_R when they attack people for being different, and thus I will not take them seriously and give a serious reply unless it escalates to a point like this.

 

I intend for this to be my last post on the subject. If this arguing continues, I'm out of here entirely.

Truthfully I wouldn't mind if there was a Masterpiece take on non G1 characters. After all, it's always the characters that have had plenty of homages already that get the MP treatment. Let's see an MP Doubledealer or something for varieties sake. However, I could be wrong, but I believe there was a MP of a Brave toy made shortly after the first Prime and before Ultra Magnus.

The only characters outside of G1 that should really be given Masterpiece treatment are the ones who were of major significance all around. This includes importance in the transformers mythos as well as how popular the character is to the fanbase.

 

Though, if I had to elect any one character to become a Masterpiece myself, it would be Beast Wars Dinobot. I commend Has/Tak for re-imagining him for the Classics 2.0 line, but the figure wasn't quite on-par with the rest of the figures. Dinobot should get the treatment he deserves.

As to BW getting MP treatment - i've already said it a couple of times before -- I just would hope they do it as a seperate line - BWMP-01 and not insert it in what they have already done. Just my preference. AS long as my opinion is not insulting anyone that is.

I think as long as the toy is well done, I'd be happy with whomever they gave the MP treatment too. I didn't need or desire a super fancy Grimlock, until I saw the MP one.

if Takara did a non g1 MP transformer, I'd hope they would look into G2/bw2 Megatron/Megastorm as its next masterpiece.

Masterpiece Brave Toys

I knew it, I swore the first MP Brave toy came out shortly after the first Prime toy was released. It's not technically Transformers, but it is a somewhat related line that's getting the MP treatment.

 

Also, I'd personally love a MP Thunderclash :tfgrin

nah....deffo should only be g1. the whole idea of masterpiece was to take the original line and make the most accurate representation that the fans wanted with todays tech. i mean who the fudge is gonna want an mp optimus primal over optimus prime or mp armada megatron over the original. its absurd! i still havent been let down by any of the mps so far. which is a big thing for me cos i hate recolours!!!!! but damn those 3 seekers look fudging sexy together. all i need is mp versions of thrust dirge and ramjet and im happy. i personaly think the next mp is going to be between hot rod and galvatron. im hoping for galvy as its about time we got a movie accurate version. universe galvy is as close as we got.

and what wing nut ( no offense ) prefers the classics screamer mold over the mp? insane!

mps are for the old school fans and should stay as such. no offense but to me transformers didnt exist after g1.......

 

I'd love a MP Primal, and I'd take any non-gun Megatron over original G1. I'd prefer a MP version of G2 Megatron, actually - the same classic character, but with an actually suitable form.

 

And I do like Classic Screamer better then MP- it's more compact, and lacks the MP's issues with parts falling off. Ever had to dig around your living room lookng for MP Starscream's fingers? I have.Not to mention MP Screamer's chest isn't all that stable - moving the arm usually results in moving the associated chest piece as well. A "Masterpiece" figure should lock tight in both modes and not be floppy. MP Starscream does look great on display, though. I just prefer toys over statues.

 

And no offense taken, but if you haven't tried Beast Wars and Animated, IMO you're denying yourself the chance to discover some great toys and stories. I like those incarnations far better than G1, and I grew up on G1.

firepaw my comments werent meant to be a personal attack, im sorry that you felt they were. look, to some it up ive only been in genuine awe of 2 toys in my entire lifetime. 1stly when on my 5th birthday i opened a nike shoe box to find the very last prime ( display model ) from toy town in belfast. 2ndly when i opened mp prime.

my heart is g1, i didnt like anything after that and thats my personal opinion.

Well put. SOunds a little like how PM Prime is my favorite version, even though I know it's far from the best one made in terms of engineering. It's a personal, nostalgic thing. There's my vote for the next MP - Powermaster Prime/Ginrai!
