Toy Hobby To Release Gentei Dark Jetfire

Recommended Posts

I believe its the same mold as the original its the paint apps that give it more detail. I just saw it advertised at big bad toy store and its actually going for $94.99 which is absolutely ridiculous...so I'm not sure if this $40.00 price is correct...gotta see it on other sites to be sure but BBTS is a good site and is usually priced well so I'm leaning toward their price as being correct.

Yea, after reviewing the pics on TFormers.com, i agree its just the paint deco that brings out the detail. The thing i was thinking before was the top of the faceplate seemed to be angled more "evil" like. Although im still not sure, im betting that its just a remold. Still you have to remember this is the early stages and they could give him some new qualitys. I think a remold of the head(or& helmet) could be a possibility ... and be totally RAD!

He seems to be equal parts homage to RiD Skyfire and movie Jetfire. While it's a very nice deco, I don't see myself shelling out the probable $90 it would take to import a redeco that I already have twice.

YO!!!!!

You are 100% correct! $95??????? I knew $40 was to good to be true

TRU still has Treadbolt or whatever his name is for $11, I'll get a Testor paint kit in the model isle and make a super kick ass version myself.

Screw it, I'll just call the blue guy Evil Jetfire :P

Well, the BBTS price is just a guess by them as to the cost. It may change, or be lower on ebay one day.

BBTS does tend to be the most expensive, but if everyone else is closer to the MSRP, that'll be pretty messed up.

As of late, i think Hasbro has noticed that whatever Takara puts out on the market, USA consumer fans buy, so if you've noticed, Hasbro has been bringing everything Takara does TO the US/Ca. market in exclusive format, if not full on retailed everywhere (via Deadend ROTF). So expect to see this in the American market within a few months after they release the new molds via N.E.S.T.,. It may even be part of the new Transformers franchise they are keeping under wraps. For some reason no one reads & comments on the "subject may due to change", which could be anything from head sculpt, to chrome paint. But something about that helmet looks ... BETTER! And im not so sure its the color. The only thing i can think is this is NOT a nod to the movie, but a new character himself that is not showing the head sculpt concept. YES i see the pic with the helmet off, i mean IF they have a concept for it, its not being shown/mentioned. Never know, Maybe this is part of TF 2010 toyline/&hopefully TV line.

Dont know why i think this but it looks to have too much character and work put into it to just be a "repaint". And even know logic suggests otherwise, a feeling in my head tells me theres more here. What?, im not so sure. I WILL say this, it seems since the Classics Henkei! fiasco, Has & Tak have had more or less the same paint jobs on thier tf toys.

POINT; I think this will make it here in the USA/CA. side of the world.

I'd accept a $20-25 mark up on the original cost of this toy, but nothing more than that.

I actually had one of the Hasbro questions a couple months back and I basically said that collectors are paying super high prices to import the toys in Takara colors.

I asked "Fans have shown that with characters such as Rodimus and Powerglide, many enjoy collecting the more G1 acurate decos, even if it means paying more for imports from the Henkei line. Can we hope to see other "Special Edition" or "Henkei" redeco figures appear on Hasbro Toy Shop in the future? If so, any hints as to which?"

I sorta got the cold shoulder with the answer "You may see some more Special Editions in the future, but nothing that

we can discuss at this time."

I don't know Deceptikhan, Takara still does alot of stuff that Hasbro doesn't bring over.

I can see this not coming here and having nothing to do with the movie or a new series. It's no different then Straif, Electro Liger(or whatever they called Clear Mirage) and so on...

If I'm wrong, OK, but I don't think I am.

nah your right about what you say, im just saying as time progresses, it seems the decos are getting closer & closer to each other rather then MILES apart (heres not lookin at you Buster Prime :D) and its been hours since i wrote that post & its 4 am, so i will have to go over it tomorrow and make sure im not missing anythn

night folks! :wave
