Hasbro Answers Your Burning Questions Episode 6!

Recommended Posts

We're only allowed three questions per session.

And you KNOW that if you ask them "What will be the next Transformers show style?" (which they don't know), "What's the next line after the movie?" (they won't divulge that), and "when will you be releasing this figure" (they won't tell you that, either), they won't answer. They really, really, really (am I making my point clear?) won't. You've seen it happen before.

So why not ask questions about processes like these questions? We picked the ones that will MOST LIKELY be answered. You get upset when they don't answer questions about upcoming figures, but you get upset when they provide insight on other decisions, like which character will be reimagined. What do you want? You cannot have it all.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't, I suppose.

how bout more questions that address decisions they've already made.. i would certainly rather know why they decided to cut out a lot of stuff that was pictured on the back of starscreams voyager box, or how many human alliance figures are planned to be released, or why they can never transform their own figures properly, or why takara consistantly has better paint (ie buster prime), or why they photoshop the back of the box photos to make them shiny, and if your answer is so that they look better.. then why not paint them like that to begin with, or why was the voyager rotf starscream tan and not more accurately silver/grey, or why the middle of leader primes feet are red along with the section that the head is on.

i mean, there are two process questions and a crossovers question.. i mean why not just ask one process question.. one why did you do something a certain way and then another anything question..

i'm sorry, i just don't see how anyone really benefits to knowing these questions. i would much rather have a better understanding to why they did something a certain way.

I'm sorry, we didn't see anybody ask these questions. We don't make up the questions because they're supposed to be about you. It's your chance to shine. Your questions are great, tim, but nobody asked them when we were looking for questions.

Those questions were lukewarm at best.

I still can't believe my question didn't get chosen....now how will I ever know if Hasbro employees wipe their asses with $20 or $50 bills. I guess somethings in life are just best left unanswered.

THEN THEY NEED TO STOP CALLING THIS "BURNING QUESTIONS" AND CHANGE IT TO MUNDANE QUESTIONS!

Ultimately, our guide in this decision making process is to make sure that we are consistent and true to a character's essence and not force fitting it into an inappropriate mold.

*snirk* yeah, that NEVER happens. :redface

Aside from that though, I gotta say.. All the complaining about what Hasbro answers is somewhat uncalled for. You know full well by now they're not going to tip their hand on anything upcoming until they're good and ready and can do so on a major stage (Botcon, SDCC, whatever). I personally found the background on how they come to their conclusions kind of interesting, aside from the chuckle inducing statement I quoted, though.

I've actually asked questions like that about the random colored plastic parts. apparently nobody thought it was important at the time. maybe the next time hopefully

i know i know. i'm not mad or angry or anything.. i am just trying to think of a way to get the most we can out of these Q&A sessions.

i think we should try and start asking tough, honest, uninsulting questions. i mean.. to me, i think of it as something that could get hasbro on page with the kind of stuff that we're worried about.

i'll just wait for the next session to ask one of those questions..

i wish they allowed for more questions to be asked. choosing only 3 questions out of all of those must have been insanely difficult/time consuming.

When I read that statement, my mind went to Armade Smokescreen. The number one WTF in Transformers character naming.

Seriously here, if some of you can't stop bashing the questions set up then perhaps we shouldn't participate anymore? BWBM works hard to make sure everyone is heard. We allow everyone to post their desired questions. The top three questions are voted on by a polling of peers. We don't choose the questions that get submitted... YOU DO.

As far as Hasbro's answers... do you expect something more than a response read off a cue card? I can guarantee you they're not going to slip out some major newsworthy answer on a forum site. They save those things for newspapers, movie trailers and conventions. We honestly should even be thankful that they'll take time out to listen to questions from forum members such as ourselves. I'm not trying to defend Hasbro or anything, but it seems like some people expect WAY more out of this than what can feasibly be delivered.

The only way we're going to get "better questions" is if more people ask questions and, just as important, ask questions that can be fairly answered by Hasbro without making them divulge an R&D secret. It's really that simple.

I would hope that after this post the bashing ceases. The thread could always end up locked after all :lock

Why should it get locked? We're discussing what's on our minds just like in every other topic. I understand what you are saying but it still doesn't make it less boring. I appreciate Hasbro actually taking the time to do this but this session was particularly snoreful. I guess our problem is we are beginning to feel like they are saying "No comment" to every batch of questions so what's the use. They should just tell us when they have something to say.
