I've just noticed after reading http://www.tfsource.com/articles/EHIns.html that the Armada Mini-con, Refute, who came packaged with Hoist, bears a striking resemblance to the G1 Insecticon, Shrapnel. Sparkplug, as has been noted, has an (apparently) unintentional resemblance to Bumblebee, which was obviously played upon for his retooling as Corona Sparkplug, but are there any other Mini-cons who play the homage game?

i thought the jetstorm minicon reminded me of silverbolt cos of his concorde mode

There was that one released with Treadbolt in Energon who had a near direct homage to G1 hound as far as color scheme went.. but thats about it.

Jolt's robot mode head looks a lot like G1 Powerglide's head.

Thundercracker's Mini-Con, Zapmaster, its vehicle mode is something like G1 Mirage
