flareup - is she coming?

My favorite names among the Transformers are among the Terrorcons: Rippersnapper, Abominus, Cutthroat and...SINNERTWIN. What an awesome name.

Elita-1 would be a horrible name for Flareup--not that Flareup is the greatest name in the universe, but Elita-1 is entirely inappropriate for all the reasons that Tramp has articulated. It would not sit well at all with me. The only way it could possibly work is if she LED the team, and of course, that's Arcee's job. It would be entirely out of place.

Flareup for the bike. Elita-1 for the gestalt..

...and that would be win of the most epic kind. I could more than live with that if there are no plans to incorporate Elita-1 proper into the Bayverse.

Not to be a butt, but if you read "Reign of Starscream" (Not that I expect you to; and don't feel like you have to, Art=win but Story=*yawn*, at least IMO) it sure as heck looks like

Elita-1 is D-E-D, Dead... of course a halfway decent writer can undo that, and a crappy writer (*cough*OrciKurtzman*cough-cough*) can undo it in a really crappy way, but it just seems like having Elita-1 be the combine mode would make about as much sense as if Abe Lincoln showed up in congress tomorrow and no one cared. Like, If everyone was like "Holy Crap! It's Lincoln! How is he not dead??" then it might be okay, but if we just pretend like he's been here all along, then it seems kinda... weird?

But then again, it would just confirm my suspicion that neither Bay nor Hasbro gives a Crap about what happens in the 'Prequel' Materials, which is actually slightly okay by me because I'm not particularly enthused by them anyway. :shrug

See, that's the thing though: I don't read any of the comics associated with the movie. Which is odd, because I love comics...but I've never really dug comics that exist to support a movie franchise, and especially this one.

My fascination with Breaker's idea stems from the details of the trio's designs. They look truly aberrant and cool, a lot cooler than one would think just hearing about what they look like. The idea of their combining into Elita-1 (a true ret-con, if ever there was one) could potentially breathe some new life into a character and concept that I--quite frankly--could care less about, with regards to G1 Elita-1.

They could definitely bring Elita back pretty easily if they wanted. It's not too hard. Having the combined form be Elita-1 would be interesting, but I'd still prefer that she be her own bot, and not a cyclebot either. She's one of my favorite femme-bots, and I'd really like to see her done justice.
