my first non G1 figure...

Recommended Posts

Okay, hope this does not sound silly at all to anyone...

I've just started collecting TF since last Christmas...and the only figures I'd buy are ones from Takara of G1 related..like reissues and Binaltechs. Cost is not an issue as long as it is Japanese (almost). This all changed when I went to a nearby Target in the city where I live and bought, out of impulse, Universe Nemesis Prime! For it is my first Hasbro figure (not counting childhood TF, of course).

I was totally blown away at the size and detail on that thing. I just found out it's a repaint of the SuperCon Optimus Prime. I had no idea what that meant...bc I never seen the original. :redface This really change my mind about not buying anything Hasbro or even anything non-G1 related.

2 things...

1. Does anyone know where I can go and view what ppl think about Nemesis Prime or even what you guys think?

2. What other current TF line and figures you'd recommend looking into that is along the line of this new amazing figure of mine? I'm quite picky though. ;)

Thanks, it's good to know what's going on and who's who. :thumb

1. Don't be picky....any toy can be fun if you understand why you're buying it.

Tru, but i'm new to the new TFs...so not sure what's good or not. Don't want to end up buying something I might not like.

For just their good value you should look at:

Energon Divebomb

Armada Unicron

Armada Supercon Optimus Prime

RID Optimus Prime

These all are among the best of figures you can get in my opinion, just for toy value they are awesome, looking good and having great designes.

I would suggest buying some of the G1 homages in Energon and see what you think. I think they're great! :thumb

Shockblast rocks da house. :tfevil

Pick up a Unicron also. :tfgrin

I was like you J Jam. Every time I happened past a toy aisle, I used to scope out the TF stuff, and it always struck me as being....Playskool-ish. Obviously plastic, bright colors, and because I haven't seen Energon, I didn't get the whole clear plastic weapons. For me, G1 was the end-all and be-all of great toys.

But BinAlt showed me that there is life after G1!!

And after checking out some of the better looking Energon/Armada toys, they're growing on me too.

I don't know about getting a 'wooly mammoth' Optimus, but hey, to each his own. :)
