Anyone else enjoy GI Joe over RoTF?

^^ Good times, good times...

both it's the new trend with hasbro toy movies. When they start showing new shows on the hasbro channle I hear it will be cool to walk out of your house too.

I'm sorry, I know this was a wasted post, but I felt I would be remiss if I didn't inform you that this is the funniest thing I heard all day!

I think that a big advantage that GI JOE has is that it never takes itself "Too Seriously" but also never gets outright "Stupid"; whereas ROTF either behaves like it's way too caught up in it's own" :awsum - awsumness" or else it behaves like a drunken frat boy with the giggles. In other words it has little-to-no "middle Ground".

...Maybe. :shrug

There, I validated my post. :tfgrin

I think you're onto something there. To me, the G.I. Joe movie was just like watching the old cartoon. Some things about G.I. Joe are different, but it still felt familiar. The cartoon was both silly but played with a straight face by voice actors. That appears to be the case with The Rise of Cobra.

GIJOE Rise of Cobra

As of September 20, 2009, the film grossed $146.20 Million in the United States and $138.8 million in foreign box offices making a total of $285 million worldwide. With a production budget and $175 million and $150 million in marketing, the film was unprofitable.

I guess you guys like it, but most people sure didn't. I liked it to, but didn't enjoy it as much as ROTF. Can't wait for the ROTF DVD to come out.

You know it really bothers me that people think $$$$='s a good movie. No it equals a more popular movie. IMHO RotF was not a good movie at all but it was very popular. What makes a movie popular? Honestly any movie with sex, drugs, bad language and a lot of advertising does well.

One of the best movies (again my opinion) of the year was StarTrek and it made less money than the "hangover" which was a terible movie.

I know I know, if RotF was so bad why did so many people go see it and it make so much money.... Simple. How many of you went to see the movie more than once? Even those who didn't like it saw it more than once... not because of it being a good movie but because it was Transformers. If it was called transformers and was about a little kid sitting in his room playing with his colection for 2 hours people would have still went to see it several times just to see what figures the kid had and they didn't.

Just like Star Wars episodes 1-3, they were terible but people saw them over and over because it was star wars. So please don't fool your self into thinking $$$ made makes a good movie. Or anything else. Wal Mart makes billions of dollars a year and we all know it is evil but we still shop there.

I liked the first one second could have been a whole lot better.

Poor G.I. Joe. It's like the Incredible Hulk to ROTF's Iron Man.

I am willing to bet GIjoe does great in dvd sales...

i wanted to like revenge of the fallen so bad it drove me in denial but it sucked and despite being futuristic and having terrible speacial effects gi joe was the superior film hell gi joe was better than wolverine was :wave

I'm sorry but the Forest Scene in Revenge of the Fallen was better then anything I saw in GIJOE. "I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON" That did it for me. That was truly the Optimus Prime I grew up with and loved. That one scene will be remembered by Transfromers Fans for a long time. I can't say the same about anything in GIJOE, and I liked it. I saw ROTF 6 times, I only saw GIJOE once. And I found the Bad guys, Baroness and StormShadow more interesting then any of the good guys. They should have made Snakes Eyes the main character, I think it would have done a lot better. No one Shined in the movie like Bumbulbee and Prime did in Transformers 1, and 2.

You are right on one aspect, out of two and a half hours the 2 minute forest scene was the only good one in RotF. Too bad it had so many flaws. Dissapearing autobots and blurry close ups to avoid real detail. But to each their own.

2 minutes of one really good scene and the rest of the movie terrible or a whole movie that was not too bad anyways? Take your pick.
