I just spotted this on the TRU Japan web site. Alternity Megatron, Diamond Black version. Comes out 10/5/2009.

Kinda looks like John Kerry.

This line only has 2 figures and already flooded with repaints...

The silver version was full of fail due to the lac of a Megatron gun. Ill probably get this "Musha" (ie: Samurai) version and think of him as some sort of Metalikato student and pose him with the upcoming Bluedgeon toy.

Just add a G1 cannon on him, and call it a day.lol

Kinda looks like John Kerry.

:lol hehehe I still want the Alternity Prime and Megs (red/silver) but they seem to be sold out

I think both characters in this line are so fully re-imagined that they almost aren't their namesakes, which doesn't bother me at all. This meagatron is actually my favorite Megatron I've had (I think, I don't remember exactly how much I did or didn't like my G1 megs as a child- but he was not one of the 20 or so bots I kept when cleaned out my collection).

I love these guys, especially the silver one. The black version is interesting. I probably still would have gotten silver, but this one would have been seriously considered if it had been available at the same time. Not interested in buying two though, so it's a bit late now.

Personally I think that if you're going to totally reimagine a character then you should give it a new name. It'll never happen because people won't buy things without a name but it's still what I think :shrug
