Are 40 year-old TF fans scary?

Recommended Posts

Well, I hate to break it to you "kids", but one day you wake up and every muscle in your body feels like a bag of potatos. You spend all day shovelling other people's crap so that at the end of the week you can afford to keep the lights on and the water running. You would be out dating and ejoying life if your arms and legs didn't feel like falling off at the end of the day and the only thing more worrying than your cholesterol level is a spot on your shoulder that has changed size or color.

Trust me, when that day comes you'll rather eat dog poop than give a second thought to what some obnoxious 15 to 20 year old thinks if he/she sees you eyeing something on a toy shelf. :tfevil

HARR!!!! :tflaugh

It's funny because it's true....

I have no doubt that if the TF franchise is still going when I'm 40 that I'll still be collecting. What the hell else can i spend my meager income on after the bills are paid...

i'm 23 - so i grew up on tfs...cried when prime died (i was like 5...sue me)

I also enjoy videogames....a lot. I have an extensive collection of both video games and transformers....why?

CAUSE IT'S BETTER THAN CRACK!

At least we're spending our money on something that makes us happy....everyone can piss off as far as I'm concerned...heh.

Not ever having TRIED crack, I'm not too sure I can relate to that, BUT...

It's certainly true that I spend far too much time trying to find these puppies. I certainly spend far too much $$ doing so.

I stopped messing around with toys when I got to High School and started playing with them again when I got into my mid-late 20's. Mostly it was the McFarlane and those "New" Star Wars figs that did it. Now, all I collect is Transformers, Robo Machine, and S.O.C. type stuff.

Problem is, you start runnign out of room (and cash) and have to start paring down...

Anyway, I'm certainly NOT going to stop once I reach 40. Hell, I'm doing it now, why would I stop?

:clap Madhammer is an international spy (J/K)

Dude, shut up! You'll blow my cover!! :grr

Actually, on my better days I'm a musician, but during the day I'm known as a mild-mannered IT guy.

Of course, neither of those occupations help to dispel the "scary" stereotype. :redface

Boy does that sound familiar. All my drawings and toys that are laying about on my desk while I manage 4 buildings' worth of PC's certainly doesn't lose me that "geek" label.

See, I knew they were good for something! :thumb

Well let's see, I was born June 5th, 1980, so I was 4 when Transformers came out in 1984. I am now 24 and I still collect Transformers, I got back into it when RID came out. I am a bit overweight, and still live with my parents, but I work a part-time job at UPS and make $13.35 an hour there, So I somewhat fit the myth.
