Help with Animated Leader Class Megatron voice clips?

Recommended Posts

Question. I'm really annoyed that Leader Class Megatron's voice clips do not sound like Corey Burton's performances on the show. Does anybody know if it can be replaced with actual Megs dialogue from the show, or if the audio's burned into the chip?

It's most certainly a Flash ROM, which in theory is reflashable, but I assume that's not how it was constructed, meaning there's no easy way of reflashing it.

What you can do is buy one of those audio-thingy chips or better a gadget where they're implemented like THIS PEN *clicky*. Extract the circuit board, wire it into your megs replacing the original one and have fun programming whatever you want into there.

Have fun and keep us updated in case you do that heart surgery ;)

Edit: if you want to go with the reflashing then please post a picture of the circuit board in addition the identification letters on the chips, maybe I can look up an "easy" way to reflash them using a pen, some bandaid and ice-cream *McGuyver out*

Hasbro should really just give us recordable voice chips that can be turned OFF.

That way they can have a cool gimmick that won't FIRE ALL THE GODDAMN TIME so I'll have a reason to leave thew batteries in.

As is, it's wasted money and a setback on the design of many larger figures.

remove the batteries :P

Still I know what you mean, the sound bytes actually being from the voice actors in the show help a lot but it can't be as bad as Armada Scavenger's sound clip, that thing would not shut up, one night i'm pretty sure it got possessed as it kept on making the sound even though it was not moving and not on the switch.

Putting a switch on and off costs a little more on the toy though, I would of preferred to have the switch over the moving mouth though, that gimmick ruins his face IMO
