Armada Thundercracker

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Bought Armada Thundercracker off eBay. He was only $25 which is cheap for me since I need to shop at eBay or online stores. I got him along Energon Jetfire because I still needed him and thought Thundercracker makes a nice bonus. Plus I now own all 3 Armada seekers. :tfgrin

But I have been wondering about something. Should I keep him in the box or open him? I already have Starscream which is the same toy so I am not getting anything new.

It would be cool to get him out of the box and play with him though. :tftongue

Sadly that would destroy the collectors value as he is worth more inside the box.

What do you think I should do?

Thundercracker is somewhat common. The rare one is Skywarp. He only came out near the end of Armada, so there were less of him produced. That, you should keep in the box. Hes currently at $70-80 on ebay now.

Open him, now! And if you get a Skywarp, open him too! :tflaugh The TF doesn't do you any good if he is locked in his prison. If you want to make money, TFs is not the way to go.

Yes, but Skywarp, Thundercracker, and Starscream are all basically the same molds. If you have 1 opened, then its up to you if you want to open the other ones. I have 2 of each of these guys, 1 opened, 1 misb. But I can't afford to do this anymore....... :roll

If anything, Thundercracker is the most common of the three Armada seeker releases.

Starscream was widely distributed, but was among the first to be replaced in case assortments and was pretty popular even before his later series performance.

Skywarp came out comparitively late in the line and didn't see much distribution before Energon hit.

I've always agreed with this point of view because I always buy things for my own enjoyment, and not whether or not I'm going to sell them sometime down the road. I've still got Star Wars toys that I'll probably never sell. Just watch Toy Story sometime and think of how sad those toys are who don't get played with!

Who cares about collector value?

Are you a fat scalper?

Is your family starving?

Do you really need $35, 10 years from now?

OPEN IT!! It's a toy, not an egyptian relic.

I agree with everybody with opening it, but if you like the way it looks in the box keep it in the box. I have the K-mart A Prime/A Jetfire 2 pack & I think they look cool in the box. Thats the ONLY reason they are still in the box. I already have the regular Prime.

Set them free!!

Seriously, toy collecting is not a great way to make money. If the only reason you wanted them was to sell them later, then sell them now. They won't go up in price very much. In spite of the 'short-shipping' there are just too many of them made for them to be truly valuable.

*Spits out coffee when reading that* $70-80!? :eek And I have a simply huge nonmoving pile in the local toystore, and they only cost $15! Time to do that toystore a pleasure, I'd say. :tfevil

Oh, and open it. Toycollecting is indeed not worth much, and I heard it's a very cool figure, especially since the colorscheme is very different from Starscream's. :thumb
