Ever notice that for both comics AND tv Shockwave never changes size when transformed? He's just a huge flying pistol, unlike Megs who does the whole defy physics and subspace magic (like soundwave, blaster, tapes, and reflector) and goes tiny and needs to be held (but then, we all need to be held every now and then...)

My fanboy theory...Shockwave was actually part of a gestault team that was TOTALLY destroyed, save him. He was actualy the weapon. Or was designed to be the weapon for Devestator/Bruiticus etc...and due to the lack of contact with team became totally self reliant, trusting only himself. The separation anxiety burnt out his emotions you could say...

Any other theories? (if not, some fan art of a combiner holding Shock?)

So what, you're saying that he's got abandonment issues?

lol good theory... and yes Shock has abadonment issues... his momma left him on the doorstep of a recycling shop... it brought the worst out :P

So what, you're saying that he's got abandonment issues?

Hahaha.....I guess that says it all. :tflaugh

ITS BECAUSE SHOCKWAVE WASN'T REFORMATED BY TELETRAN ONE!

have you also noticed that he turns into a wepon that would not have come from earth?

thats why, he doesnt need to disguies himself

plus, he isnt a hand gun, he's a cannon

so those r some reasons

Did I answer your question?

yes and no...He still has a trigger after all...and a true handle as well. Not like Galvatron who was a true cannon (supports and all)

And to add to the abandonment issues, Megs left him behind as well

really interesting theories... i like the one with Shockwave being a weapon for a long-gone combiner team...

in "The Revenge of Bruticus" (i think that's the title), Bruticus was holding Shockwave in weapon mode to blast away the drones... and Shockwave was definitely big enough to be held by a gestalt

great theory... i await the art.

also, you'ld have issues if your leader abandoned you for 4 million years!

He didn't abandon him, per se. Megatron went out and was planning on coming back. It's like when your mom tells you she's going out to get some milk, and she's gone for hours, and then the postman comes by asking for her, and you say she's not there, and he looks at you fondly, and suddenly, you think he may be your dad. I'm not saying this happened to me.

Its was very cold in subspace...
