Will There Be Another BotCon 2009 Exclusive Figure?

Recommended Posts

I would seriously have a difficult time taking any bot seriously that was named Scorponok and couldn't transform into a scorpion.

Bumblebee doesn't turn into a bee.

Hound doesn't turn into a dog.

Wheeljack doesn't turn into a jack.

;)

:lol

I don't know much about the Botcon exclusive but what I have been seeing are mostly all repaints. Don't they ever do original molds for their exclusives? The one pictured looks like a repaint of one I have. Transformers Energon Dreadwing.

No. Generally the cost of engineering a new mold is expensive, more then the botcon people can afford especially for such a limited run. A few of the figures will get new heads, but that is typically the extent of remolding/ retooling the figures receive.

It's not just Transformers. Convention exclusive toy from any company are generally repainted or slightly remolded toys from their general toy line. Can you imagine the complaints from fans who couldn't afford it if they made a new toy mold and ONLY sold it for $300 at a convention? So they make toys and sell them in stores, but as a collector's item they repaint it a new color and sell it at a convention as a exclusive. If you can't buy a $300 set, you can probably get the similar toy in the original color much cheaper at stores or online.

I thought Scorponok at first too, but that would be weird

Black Zarak maybe? :D

no banzai-tron

Where is this printed? No matter how many people say this it doesn't make it true. The colors aren't even a little accurate for Banzaitron. The purple is the wrong shade and there's way too much of it, the green isn't really right either. Now compare the other repaints to their G1 counterparts, they're almost 100% spot on in colors. Why go all the way on every figure and then drop the ball if this were Banzaitron? If this IS Banzaitron then color ME disappointed.

what ever your disapointed i'm disapointed at terminator 3 but you don't hear me complaining
At first glance the colors made me think of G1 Scorponok

That's who I thought too...but I think Tidal Wave would make more sense, being a boat and all.
