interesting to see what the colours of the plastic are with out the chrome.

I like that almost all red fire convoy, has a very warpath vibe to it.

Talking about RID/CR... I always thought it was funny to see people complain about the "random" chrome on Henkei figures when it was even more random on RID/CR figures, including Prime and Magnus...

Back then we were still used to Beast Wars and the EXCELLENT chrome those guys had. It didn't occur to use that chrome was ugly because we still had recent and fond memories of Beast Wars.

You're kidding, right? The type of chrome used on Transmetal was of poor quality (would flake easily) and was even more randomly used. The TM/TM2 were some of the ugliest Transformers ever commited to plastic.
