How can you stiffen up..

Recommended Posts

How can you make the 360 shoulder joint on Universe Ultra Magnus up? the one with the metal mushroom.

post a link to tfu.info of whichever UM you mean... is it the armada prime repaint?

BTW how do you swap his forarms to the correct side?

how did that one slip my mind...

seems like i remember people saying to use superglue and keep the joint in motion for 30 minutes while it dries...

Going by the subject line, I'd say use Viagra! :drum

Seriously though, I've only seen the "use super glue, keep rotating for 20 mins" application. I've done it but after the third go around, I gave up, the build up was not happening nearly as much and I was starting to worry I might freeze the joint completely.

I did take him apart and inspect him, unfortunately since he has those huge flat rivets in place, there is not much else I can think of to correct the looseness. I don't think Hasbro ever thought about a 4 oz. chunk of plastic(I weighed it sometime ago) would ever be hanging off the arm(s), otherwise we might have gotten better joints and/or better QC.

i tried the search and came up empty but found a thread going page by page here.

I haven't tried it on Magnus, but on some of my older figures with loose slide joints, I opened them up and used a piece of paper to give that extra resistance.

I wonder if something like that would help fatten the post on Magnus? I don't realy wanna glue mine up either.

It should be harmless. Paper over the post(maybe fold it over), reassemble the arm, trim away the extra.

I found a way!

Take one of the elastic bands that Hasbro toys come with (THE ONLY BLOODY NECESSARY PART OF THE BOX) and wind it into the joint, then coat with Clear Nail Varnish. Keep winding and leave for 30 secs. makes the joint super strong!
