MP5 with a proper sized fusion cannon

Recommended Posts

Not sure if it's been done before, but MP5 sporting an original Megs's fusion cannon. I think looks a lot better proportionally, and he doesn't want to fall over all the time. Eventually I'll get around to installing an LED and button so it lights up just like the big MP one.

Just made a custom piece to attach the original Megs cannon to, and right now it's just 2x sided taped on top of the MP mount. It's small enough that it doesn't interfere with mounting up the MP scope, so either can be swapped on and off easily.

With all the 3rd party companies out there, I'm seriously surprised that this hasn't been made yet.

We keep getting MP add on kits and Classic add-on kits, but this is something I really wish someone would make, because the official cannon is ridiculously large. I know it's in scale and works in gun mode, but maaaan, did they need to include a spare one.

I would trade all of MP Grimlock's silly extras (non-weapons, obviously) and Kremzeek for a Meg cannon like that.

Glad to see what a G1 cannon looks like, I never owned one, and was worried about how to mount it. It'd be nice if a 3rd-party customizer company would remold it so it has a mount that works with the MP mount. Good simple mod. :)

It looks alright in robot mode, but would definitely be too small in gun mode. That's why they went with the larger cannon. Personally, I like the larger cannon, though I couldn't afford getting him in the first place anyway.

I just use the turret contraption upgrade set and leave it off his arm all together, but I thought about doing this too. Looks good!

Funny, I posted that like months ago and was suprised at the time nobody had anything to say and now apparently interest.

Still haven't gotten around to putting an LED in it like the Masterpiece version. I originally had planned to modify the center section to fit the MP mount, and then having more molded off of it, but too much work & cost for too little gain IMHO. The little mount I made holds the G1 cannon on just fine with 2x tape, & the MP sized scope can still slide on & off right over the new mount for the G1 piece. And really the only time the MP scope looks good is in alt mode and considering the complexity/propensity for paint scratching/chipping I don't transform him very often.

Also a big plus is the G1 scope doesn't weigh a ton like the MP version, so Megs isn't in constant danger of falling over.
