Best TF personality ever?

Recommended Posts

I always see topics about who's your fave TF, but never on the one with the best/most developed personality in the series. Some were done better than others, and thats what this is about. Here's my one 'bot and one 'con pick...

Autobots--Jazz

Without a doubt, this guy is the coolest ever. Blaster was a close second, I think being a little more stereotypical and having the rhyming thing is why I picked Jazz over him, but it was a tight race. The Scatman did this guy in a way that you knew he was supposed to represent a black dude, but Jazz's character was all his own, he didnt have that cut and dried character image going on nearly as much as some others (Prime=Perfect Goodguy, Ironhide=rootin' tootin' cowboy, Sunstreaker/Sideswipe=cocky young hotshots, Rumble=street thug, Megs/Starscream=Evil powerful but incompetent duo who cant get along, Perceptor=brainiac scientist who speaks only in big words). Jazz always seemed to surprise me with what he did in the show moreso than the others, he wasnt nearly as predictable. So as Autobots in G1 go, this guy had without a doubt the best personality ever.

Decepticons--Cyclonus (G1)

Who arouse more confusion than Cyclonus? You didnt know whether to admire or pity the guy. On one hand, he is a powerful brilliant warrior who shows more competence, honor and skill than most all of the G1 deceps combined. Yet for all the guy has going for him, he remains blindly loyal to Galvy, a bullying madman who is a complete idiot in terms of having any kind of plan to lead his army. Galvy bullys Cyclonus, completely disregards his opinions and advice (although he has more idea what to do than any of them) and constantly breeds nothing but failure, keeping them in a barely subsistent position on a burned out planet. There is more depth to Cyclonus' character than any Decepticon and most Autobots. In the Killing Jar, he could have let Ultra Magnus float off into space, ridding himself of one of his deadliest enemies, yet he saves him. Letting Mags perish is beneath him as a warrior. There's clearly more to this guy than just some carbon copy bad guy. And besides, when he needed Energon to rescue Galvy, he could have just beat it out of the other cons; he had the strength and power. But no, he did like a freakin' televangelist! "Giiiiiiiive, my fellow Decepticons! Giiiiiiiiiiiive till it HUUUUURTS!!!!"

I am a big fan of BW Rampage. To see what I'm talking about, watch the episodes Bad Spark, Transmutate, and Deep Metal

but for autobots it has to be Prowl

cold, logical and loyal

I loved Hot Rod from the movie. He was a great combination of Sideswipe, Bumblee and Jazz. He definitely had the rash Sideswipe thing going on with a dash of Bumblebee naivite. He also seemed (and I extrapolating here) like the first truly Earthborn Transformer. Jazz loved Earth culture, but Hot Rod seemed at home in the first few minutes of the movie (I mean he's fishing!), which I thought was cool. Like he was the first transformer born (?) and raised on Earth and just accepted it as his home as much as he still loved his homeland of Cybertron. But then he turned into lamewad Rodimus Prime, the least charismatic of all Transformers EVER. Soundwave looked the life of the party next to old Rodimus. Then when Hot Rod came back in the show he always just seemed less naive and more just plain stupid. I was crushed when Optimus died in the movie, but doubly crushed when the super cool and interesting character I had grown to care about during the same movie turned into a lame Optimus-clone van thing.

BW Rampage, BW Dinobot, BW Megatron

these 3 with out a shadow of a doubt are and forever will be the greatest 3 charcters ever

I am and always will be partial to Sunstreaker's character.

Probably because he reminds me so much of myself. :mwahaha :mwahaha

Cyclonis basicly led the Cons after galvy went crazy... he let himself get beat so not to arouse suspision.

All of the Beast Wars characters really. I mean there were a few very stand-out personalities, but they were all well written and I enjoyed each one in their own right. I guess I like the depth and thought that was put into their creation. Energon seems to be following along the same vein, more so with the Decepticons. I think they've finally learned from their mistakes.

Hey guys,

I'm new here to these boards but I'm a huge TF fan :) Anyhow, I think Blatsre was the coolest personality because he was cool, rebellious, and just an interesting character on the show...Obviously, I'm biased, but Jazz would be a close second too in my books :)
