Your opinion of Universe Soundwave & Spacecase

Recommended Posts

I was at Meijer today and saw some new tf's. Among those were Soundwave & Spacecase. When I saw it up front, I'm not sure if I like it as much. Just wondering what your opinion is and why?

Well I like em and I will get em as soon as they are available around here

Nice idea for an updated Soundwave alt mode; poor execution. He's a brick, for one thing (the original figure was created in 1992 before Hasbro figured out what articulation meant); for another, even though Universe Soundwave is blue, the yellow head is a definite "gaah!" JMO

It may be worth it for the Cyberjet though, if you don't have any. They rock.

Well, I'm not too fond of this Soundwave, and won't be buying it, but that's just me. :tfgrin

This is one of the molds that I missed and have always wanted. And thankfully Universe is using them again. So far Soundwave is the only one missing, the other two were King Atlast AKA Starscream, and Autobot Whirl AKA Whirl.

So I will gladdly pick this one up whenever I see him at a store.

Not so kean on the cyberjet, but I have heard nothing but good things about it so I look forward to owning it.

I'll pass, thanks.. I like the updated idea being a communication truck and all.. cool idea.. but most machine wars tfs kinda turn me off..

Actually it was originally a UK Gen 2 figure, released in 1992. If it had been original to Machine Wars, at least it would have had better articulation.

Wasn't Autobot Whirl originally Machine Wars Sandstorm? Or maybe it was G2 Sandstorm? Or was it a UK exclusive G2 figure? Or do I need to cut back on the hashish?

He was Machine wars sandstorm, I don't know what he was called in Europe before that.

I'll get them if I find them.

Rotorstorm>Sandstorm>Autobot Whirl

Stalker>Soundwave>Soundwave

And technically, it wasn't just Europe that they were released originally. Just everywhere but the US (and maybe not Japan, either. They got the "deluxe" figures, but I'm not sure about any of the larger ones).

Had Stalker as a kid, but lost him somehow. All I've got left is his missiles, and his hugeass rocket. I might get Soundwave when I find him, to reclaim this lost mold of mine. He's a brick, sure, but most of the toys of that era were. On the flip side, he's got a good transformation, and a cool looking, proportionate robot mode, which is more than you can say for a lot of the other toys of that era.
