I had a thought. I was looking at Red Alert in my newly arrived copy of the TPB of MTMTE Vol 2 reprint by IDW. I've always known that Red Alert was a repaint of Sideswipe, but a thought crossed my mind. If I used the appropriate paint, or commissioned someone to use the appropriate paint and just applied the paint, no apps whatsoever, would it work if I tried using the G1 stickers from Red Alert if I ordered some from Reprolabels?

 

Take a look at the stickers and tell me what you think. I have a junker Sideswipe, and I was thinking of using his head as a spare, so I'd have a red head and a black head and change it whenever I wanted to, kind of like my Premium BB has two heads, his battle mode and regular.

I just realized I didn't even mention I'm talking about Universe Sideswipe...though as I'm writing this I may just be pointing out the obvious.

 

Anyhoo, should I try this, or just wait for the inevitable repaint. Reason I'm asking is cause I just ordered Inferno from HTS and Inferno needs his buddy Red by his side.

That's a rough idea of what I want to do. There's more red than I'd like on mine, but I meant using the actual Gen 1 stickers and not making my own, and I'd leave the center part of Sideswipe's hood red for the red part of Red Alert's.

The actual G1 stickers are too small; especially the ones that go on the doors. You're better off making your own on the computer using a program like Adobe Illustrator and then printing them up on blank water-slide decal paper. It comes in either white or clear (I use clear for all of mine).
