These are definitely not :animated figs.

Once again, say it with me - these are basic size movie figs - aside from the Real Gears and repaints from other lines, this is a whole new animal.

Not bad. I'll definately have to pick up the bike, and more then likely the other 2 as well. But I do agree, these are either basic, or scout sized at best, movie line, and probably filler toys (Target exclusives again) and not likely to be in the movie.

Personally, while I absolutely hated the look of the on-screen movie Transformers, I thought that their toys looked great. The realities of making a piece of plastic that has to obey the laws of physics meant that Hasbro/Takara had to give the robots actual distinctive shapes instead of just being a random pile of crap like their CGI counterparts. The only things I didn't like about them were their heads, as they were more movie-accurate than their bodies (or, in other words, hideous pieces of crap.) These new scouts seem to be continuing the spindly/hyper-detailed aesthetic of the original movie toys while taking things in a more traditional direction with larger altmode chunks visible in robot mode and heads that, while still decidedly non-human, are much less busy and more expressive than the typical movie style. They basically look like what you'd get if a Beast Machines Vehicon had adopted an Earth-mode, and I thought that the Beast Machines Vehicons were some pretty awesome toys.

:pfx It looks like Hasbro's taking more liberties with the non-screen characters. The blend of designs looks interesting and promising at the same time.

I agree these are probably NOT movie bots, but movie BASED bots... With that said, I do believe like many of the last movie non-character transformers, They are probably vehicles IN the movie (aka Incinerator, Towline, ARCEE!, etc..)

Didn't you make this post a year and half ago, and this is just a remixed version?

'cause I honestly swear I've read this before.

i don't think that knock out toy is a movie figure

It is. Get over it.

At least we aren't getting more Cybertron repaints. God, those things still clog shelves at Target :fail

I dont know about the rest of ya, but at least SOMEBODY has to see this bike bot for what it truly is. Its Energon Arcee with a new head, right? And this "rolebar/rollbar is like an updated Armorhide. Pretty damn close to cybertron figs. IMo, these are on par with Cybertron figs not movie. Thats not saying they ARE cybertron though, just the esthetic.

That said, i do find myself strangely attracted to the Truck bot. Looks like a mini Magnus. :)

I like the bike-bot. I shall name him Bike-bot and I shall love him.
