Japan FTW as usual. Still, I don't like the SUV mode of this mold. It looks wrecked.

Aside from the stripe differences the difference in paint is minimal. Henkei Ratchet has a black crest, chrome gun, and red clear plastic. Universe Ratchet has a red crest, red gun, and clear blue plastic. The stripes are the most pronounced difference.

 

Well I suppose YMMV and all that because honestly, the first few times I looked at the pic I didn't even notice the stripe difference. In retrospect this may be due to the photography and not the toy itself, but my issue was both with the other differences you noted and the sheer intensity of the colors.

The picture of Hasbro's version is just oversaturated. It's just a bad picture.

Getting the Hasbro version because I can stomach paying 8 bucks for this mold, not 30.

I will be picking up the Hasbro Ironhide and Ratchet...as soon as I find out how to tell if your Ironhide has the running change silver face or not.

Well, see, I already have the paint and the brush, and it didn't take maybe 30 seconds to fix. So I guess it just depends on how much of a hassle the "fix" is?
