How big a TFs fan are you?

Recommended Posts

I don't think anyone can say they are a 10 if they have not spent at least $5,000 on a single project or piece - be it a GOLD MP PRime... or taking a real car and repainting it and decking it out like a TF, etc. Feeling like a 10 is one thing, putting your money where your mouth is - is another different thing. JMHO.

if i win the lottery & spend five g on a power ranger does that make me a "10" does it? i think not

It's very easy to quantify how big a TF fan you are. All you have to do is answer this question: how many c0cks would you allow to be stuffed in your various orifices for a complete, mint G1 collection?

0 = not a fan

1 = clearly unworthy

2 = come on

3 = maybe

4 = pretty good

5 or above = congratulations!

dude i'd go 5 or above for a lot less

ROFLMAO...

which leads to the next question.. who will give up a mint G1 to become one of the 5? LOL :P

Don't look at me... i'm keeping my G1's... just saying.. it's the next logical question.. LOL

Ok, I have a G1 Collection and I'm running out of things to collect.

I could be number 1 on the list of five, but do I get to pick the orifice...I'm thinking Scary Movie!

G1 < Everything else that's come after

that is not what I said. I didn't say everyone who spends 5G's is a 10. I said anyone who is a 10, should have spent at least 5G on one. I think if someone is going to be a 10 - they have to go above and beyond what most would do - isn't that what makes them a 10? Just my opinion.

so if someone is really struggling with their cash & they save up for a good 6-12 months to buy say a junker G1 scorponok then spends all their spare time cleaning it & repairing broken bits they're less of a fan than someone that drops a stupid amount of money on a toy?

look my point is you can't put a definitive cash figure on what makes a fan "a 10" okay - just like you can't really scale how big a fan someone is...

this thread started dumb as f*ck and went downhill btw

argue semantics if you want but you surely understand what i'm saying

I think I'm a 5 on the scale. I'm into transformers where I can collect them and enjoy the story behind them, but I'm not a raging fanatic that will obsess over them.

I understand. I just disagree. I think how you spend your money is a huge reflection on where your heart is. And I think if your having some kind of scale... everyone who 'loves TFers' is not an automatic 10. I know I certainly am not. I would never spend that kinda of money on one - because I have other priorities in my life. And I have no desire to insult the emotional intensities of a 15yr old who has alot to learn about life yet. I'm just saying.. in any given scale.. of anything.. you usually have a bell-curve. Do you think the masses can all be a 10? If they were, wouldn't you then find another way to scale and measure the nuances between them? Thus it all gets down to - what makes someone just a tad crazier than someoen else. TO ME, after reading what some have spent and done it seems like a rasonable distinction. There should be a time element as well probably. AS they say - your heart is where you spend your TIME and MONEY - that is simply a fact of life - no matter how PR you want to make it or not.

Key example -- the guy who went out and built a 6ft Prime out of scrap parts - welding them together etc - spent HUGE amounts of time in his endevour. I believe it sold for thousands. I'd say they are both 10's. One spent vast amounts of time on it - and another spent the money on it. Now the caviat is - did the guy who spent all that time on it - do it because he loves TFers OR 'purely' the money and TFers were just what he thought would bring th emoney. That is why I said - not everyone who spends the money (or time) IS a 10 - but someone who is a 10 should have some type of 'extreme' story like this. Same like the guy who hunted the Gold MP Prime for YEARS and then spent so many thousands on it - he's obviously an extreme person - ie, a 10.

Maybe you believe emotions alone make a person a 10. I disagree - but your free to have your opinion. I was only explaining my rational. I mean no disrespect to your view. Like you said - the entire subject is meh. I'm just saying.. 10 is a 10 for a reason and is not usually classified so that it can be just anyone.

if you look at my original post on the subject - I was using humor to suggest on any given day i'm a bigger fan or lessor fan because I have other priorities in my life that mean more to me than a hobby. On any kind of serious scale.. i'm a 4 or 5.

Most days about a 4-5.

Occassionally as high as 8, but some days as low as a 1 or 2.

Sometimes as high as 7, but others only a 3.

Altho there are instances, not at all, except for occassionally and sometimes which are hardly some days and others, but even then it's more like most days.

Don't take things so serious. :tfevil
