G1 Optimus Prime by sabsabby85

My very own custom G1 Optimus Prime customized from a Premium Leader Class Optimus Prime. I've seen many great repaints of Optimus Prime but it seems that they're all customized to be as movie accurate as possible (What happened to G1??). Well, this custom however has broken that trend. It's designed to look as G1 as possible. The only 'flaw' to this repaint, is that due to the transformation from truck to robot, the legs are unable to be totally blue as per the MP-01 mold. Thus this custom is 100% truck accurate and 70% robot accurate.

Ermm..Wow. Is this an auto post or did someone made it into a thread for me?

Auto thread. When you submit a gallery it automatically makes a thread.

nice work btw.

Woah!!! That's just so freaking cool!!! 1st time I've seen such a feature!!!!! Makes life a little simpler.

Nice work!

Although I'm not sure a strict G1 paint job really flatters the Movie mold.

That red looks incredibly slick. Nice work.

Thanks! Erm..Is it strict? I missed out the silver stripe as many others have commented :tfrofl

yeah a stripe would be nice, but not just a straight horozontal down the side. maybe go with a brake where you could continue it in his bot mode. see what i mean?

also, did you paint the underside of the hood blue? folded up it would allow more blue for his leg.

regardless you did a beautiful job.

Oh, yup. I did paint it blue but I did not fold it up as it was so tight there and would almost always chip unfortunately. I'm having the same problem with my movie accurate prime which I'm working on now. Cant seem to sand that area enough.

OOh! Ur rite about that stripe. I initially looked at a straight flat constant stripe and it didn't appeal. Something with a brake might just work. Wow, ur awesome. Real nice of you to do up the digibash!

well, maybe instead of painting the inside piece that you don't really see you can make it black with a magic marker. i do that to my the ball joints instead of painting them and it doesn't rub off.

not a big deal. took 2 secs with mspaint. it's all i have. :tfsad.

i've seen a bunch of g1 themed movie repaints and normally they just don't work on the movie bots, but for some reason this one is really nice. i like the added ware on the steps, fuel tanks, and smoke stacks too.
