Why did the armada Wheeljack turn his back on the Autobots?

what are their roles in the victory series. i notice they are the only bots to make it that far,but the thing that gets me is didnt wheeljack die in tftm.

Has anyone seen the Lancia Alitalla Stratos car in Grand Tourismo 4? It looks almost just like Wheeljack except it doesn't have the ground effects. Like this one:

So with the rumor of the new Alt/BT we have a potential WheelJack/Downshift/Slicer.... I know a lot of us are frustrated by the "repaints" in this line. I think i have an idea why. Even though "repaints will always be apart of the TF's" i think its different when you spend 7 or 11 dolars on a basic or a deluxe (ie the original Silverstreak/Prowl/Smokescreen were not very big) - its frustrating to fork out anywhere from 20-85 dollars and have a repaint. I understand why. So people are saying that WheelJack *should* be a unique mold.... originally so was Jazz/Meister my question is "Why??" Why didnt we ever see a real "Slicer"?? was it made AFTER SEASON 2 part 2??? i have that as a single DVD , and i also have HEROES as a SINGLE DVD, but, im just wondwering WHEN TF - THE MOVIE was made, was it made AFTER SEASON 2 part 2???

This thought just crossed my mind. When a TF gets battered in a fight, and body parts are mangled and twisted, they can't really Transform without doing themselves more damage, soooooo.... Do you think they Transform anyway, shearing off more of themselves as metal panels slide past one another shearing off what other pieces/wires/whoknows might be bent, or exposed, or do they stay in bot mode and try to salvage what's left of themselves? And how much "pain" do you think they're in when they have to do one or the other?
