Hi. I'm new to the world of kitbashing/repainting, and I'm aiming to repaint an Anniversary Prime into Magnus, just the white cab version, no armour. This will be my first repaint, and so I'm just asking for general advice on repainting, but annything specific to this project would rock. Basically, tips on what kind of paint to use for the metal and plastic parts, the opaque and translucent, painting techniques, preparing the metal and plasic for painting, anything that could help really, even digipaints. Tips on dissasembly and reassembly would help, too. And if anyone's done this already, if you could even outline some of the steps or difficulties …

I'm still finishing Red alert...I figure he'll be done by next weekend... I'm bored while waiting for the paint to dry...(I'm very impatient) So I started photoshopping various ideas... and I believe this is what I am going to do next: I am trying to avoid G1 characters caue I figure eventually we are going to get all of them, as long as the line continues...but Hasbro hasn't touched Armada/Energon/Cybertron...so thats where I'm gonna stay... Lets see. The 7 included weapons plus a 3D printed automatic shotgun, a HUGE chain-gun and a larger trench-style combat knife. I added chain ammo to his large tri-barrelled gatling gun and of course, a 3D printed G1 inspired head.and a shotgun ammo belt. AOE Ironhide...NRA approved :-) Enjoy!

It's always nice when your homework and your hobbies coincide. My CAD Professor got a REAL kick out of this one. This is what I call a midterm By CAD drafting and 3D printing a replacement chest, Galvatron is turned into Nemesis Prime. The head is from the Evasion Optimus mold, his buster cannons also drafted and printed. And yes, I got an A Enjoy!

"I love the smell of capitalism in the morning"...said some greedy bastard :-) If I could have chosen the look of Optimus Prime through out these past 3 films, this would be it. In addition to the weathered paint work, Optimus also carries 2 3D printed ROTF inspired Buster Cannons, a shoulder mounted chain gun and a my take on an updated version of his G1 Ion Cannon, also created with a 3D printer. More Grimlock is always a good thing :-) I painted him in homage to his G1 color scheme, and gave him a big ol' spiky meat cleaver, to cut through anything that gets in his way. Enjoy!

i made some changes like leaving out the purple and adding black for a dead look. and i painted the inside of the cockpit white and bright yellow with the clear green canopy it looks kinda like a spark chamber which i see as the point reanimation. flight mode pics later. i will do another one more true to character after i get my second neog1 screamer.
