The Transformers Pepsi promotion (see can below) to get an original Generation Optimus Prime toy with extra stickers for sweetening his trailer is, or was, a sort of grail piece for many collectors. Until G1 based versions were reissued first in 2005 from Takara as "Pepsi Convoy" in Japan. Then again, as the BotCon 2007 exclusive "Pepsi Optimus Prime" in America. Back when Energon was cheap, we could count on leader class figures having some serious weight to them. Today's shot takes a look at one of the bigger and grander toys from the Super Link days of 2004. What fans dubbed "fattimus" Prime for his big body and skinny legs in his powered-down mode. Was more than made up for with his Super Modes combined with the Prime Force attachments from his trailer or in combination with Wing Saber. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now

In times of decision, the obvious choice should be BOTH! That's what BotCon gave us in 2017 with the Transformers Subscription Figures 5.0 Megatron w/ Spacewarp & Optimus Prime w/ Hi-Q set. We not only got BOTH Leaders Megatron and Optimus. We got DOUBLE Pretenders with inner robots, AND Mini-cons to boot! That's a lot of BOTH, so today we've got a shot of just the Optimus Prime side of things. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now

Back in early the 2000s, just about anything Transformers was a rarity. Today, it probably seems a bit strange that Takara made gobs of Transformers Super Collection Figures figures. Sold in 10 different ACTs (waves), each character replicated faithfully from their cartoon robot modes, some from memorable scenes in the Transformers past. When the Transformers rolled out in 1984, having a computer at home was an expensive luxury that very few kids had. As a result, there was no shortage of licensed Transformers writing implements such as finders, notebooks, pens, erasers, pencils, and sharpeners to keep things on point when it came to school. With it being Mother's day, it only seems fitting to take a shot of the original toy that gave birth, figuratively speaking, to one of the most iconic Transformers of all time, the Generation 1 Optimus Prime. There is a long evolution behind the toys that would become Transformers. Ironically, what was Takara's response to the then-popular Mech (human-powered) robots was the Diaclone Car Robots series in1982. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now

The Transformers Classics Voyager Optimus Prime from 2006 has been made over so many times by Hasbro, Takara, BotCon, and a near-endless array of KOs. I have lost count of how many there are. It has become a strange obsession of mine to find them all, even the KO variants. Arguably, the most desirable Classics molds of all is the BotCon Timelines Shattered Glass Optimus Prime (Optronix) from 2008. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now

Today's Prime shot is focused squarely on the post-G1 series confections from 2007 with gummy versions of the Cybertron / Galaxy Force, and 2007 Movie Protoform Optimus Prime. Sold as part of the Transformers 2007 licensing blitz by Cap Candy, these chewy treats represent the sticky side of Transformers collecting. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now

The sage wisdom we always hear from Optimus Prime, "“Freedom is the right of all sentient beings", doesn't have a known origin, but in more than a few instances, such as in Beast Machines. It has been suggested the Autobot Leaders' empathetic view of others may be drawn from the 2,500 years old teachings of the Buddha. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
