  1. I've been offered $40 for this figure, which seems like a good deal. That said, I have no idea what the going rate for customs is...
  2. Haha, that's exactly what I was going for. I'd seen some footage on YouTube of rusted-up Walthers and Lugers being pulled out of abandoned WWII supply caches and thought it'd be a good look for Megatron. It's a pity there isn't another realistic gun version aside from the Masterpiece, I'd like to do a larger, more detailed version. In other news, I have the Transformers Legends reissue of Sixbuilder as Devastator. I was considering dirtying that up, but it's one of my favourite mini-transformers... If you don't mind dropping some coin, and getting DOTM Megatron, Takara is doing a Transformers Chronicle (re?)issue of the G1 Megatron. :thumb Not sure if he's complete, as the Tokyo Toy Fair display only showed him with his scope / fusion cannon, no stock & silencer. I saw some pics of that. I never had a G1 Megatron... I imagine the DotM Megatron could do with some weathering. Even though it does seem to be the most interesting design from the new film, I'm as done with the Bayverse aesthetic as I am primary school. Roll on the reboot, please God smoother robot designs...

  4. Thanks :D I took some pics with my iPhone, it turns out the camera on that does close focus much better than my real camera :wtf
  5. I found this figure hiding with some stuff I bought back from university with me this morning and decided I was going to repaint it. I'd had enough of that orange safety blaze. Paint job more than slightly inspired by my 3A collection... http://forums.TFormers.com/talk/index.php?app=gallery&module=user&user=7178&do=view_album&album=1395
  6. ...Like VW execs seeing GM sales being shored up by whoring their cars out to a multi-billion dollar pop-culture juggernaut and realising they could have been in on the ground floor way back when Takara came to them with Binaltech?
  7. FML, as if my luck with women isn't bad enough, I have never met a female Transformers fan - and now you tell me there are actually quite a few of them AND they're good-looking? :redface Someone please just shoot me...
  8. I think you are right. I dont remember even hearing the colors are different on this one. But all it is is a reissue. The only MP Prime version I passed on was the walmart DVD version. I passed mainly because the voice on that base was not the real prime. Isnt this the same base that is coming out with MP01L? I hope not. Hope its voice not in Japanese either - that would be funny, and disappointing. According to Takara Tomy, the mold has been revised for this final release. No word on how or to what extent. The dialogue IS in Japanese, but it's apparently high-quality recordings - all new - by the original Japanese voice actor for Convoy. For those of us who 話す the 日本語, the base will reveal the next Masterpiece Joy.
  9. That image is really annoying - those are the same images used to promote the original MP-01. The only new thing there is the base :( I really want to know what these little changes they're allegedly making to the mold are. Also, if you've never owned an MP Optimus/Convoy, TFboy - I recommend it. Ok, so mine's the crappy Hasbro one - but it's still probably the best Masterpiece, even after all these years. It's huge, it contains vast amounts of diecast, the accessories and gimmicks are great and the transformation is very satisfying. The sculpt quality is amazing. The white Ultra Magnus shows the detail off much better, though. If you want a figure to stare at lovingly, that's the one to get, despite the lack of armour.
  10. So, I passed up on Rodimus. HLJ forgot to file my pre-order, plus the appaling reviews and relatively small size of the figure totally killed my interest, especially at the price point. I did, however, preorder the Final Convoy. My MP Optimus is the inferior American version, it's the only non-Japanese MP in my otherwise complete collection. Apart from the Malibu Stacy new hat electronic base, does anyone have any idea what to expect from this figure? I'm quietly optimistic. It's between this and Grimlock for the best Masterpiece, I'm hoping Takara Tomy are going to send the mold out with a bang rather than a wimper. Also, diecast. Lots of it :D
  11. Hey guys - this is my first time selling stuff on through the internet, so go easy on me... I'm a second-year university student at London's School of Oriental and African Studies; for the last term I've been lodging in a Japanese household in London and the experience has somewhat altered my mindset. I just got back to my parent's house for Christmas and can't stand the clutter in my room - I'm stripping it out, Japanese style as I find a minimalist environment much more conducive to studying. So... I'm getting rid of a lot of my old toys. I'll get round to the colossal Transformers collection in time, but basically I'm only keeping my absolute favourite items. Please bear in mind that all the items listed may be slightly dusty and are are assembled, but they still have all their original packaging and instructions. Star Wars Lego: Clone Wars Republic Gunship Clone Wars Torrent Fighter Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter with Hyperspace Ring Episode III AT-AP (three-legged walker) Classic Star Wars Imperial Lander Episode I limited edition Sith Infiltrator (the new, curvy one) Force Unleashed Rogue Shadow Classic Star Wars limited edition Echo Base with Snowspeeder Classic Star Wars Motorized AT-AT General Greivous's Starfighter (original small one) Several boxes of Episode III Clone Troopers with emplacements and speeder bikes I'll be checking ebay for the going rates of these items - sensible offers via PM, please. I would prefer buyers in the UK, but I will attempt to meet the needs of international customers, although bear in mind that postage to Europe, America, Canada or Asia will be significantly higher form the UK.
  12. Does anyone else think this is what Bay's Prime should have looked like? This thing has attitude to spare, especially the unusual (but not in a bad way) head sculpt... Also, stop bitching about the colour scheme, it's exactly the same as the original Laser Rod Prime. G2 colour schemes were usually neon eye rape, be grateful this figure is halfway sensible.
  13. I've been out of the loop for several months with Transformers, but I'm glad I saw that on YouTube. I think this has the potential to be the next Beast Wars (remember, that didn't get good until season 2...); the animation is beautiful, the designs are excellent, the human characters aren't as intolerable as every other iteration of the franchise - the only thing I can really criticize is Starscream's design. It's almost as bad as the movie version. It's almost like Kurtzman and Orci wanted to make up for the two live-action films by effectively remaking the first without Michael Bay, dorky humour, outlandish designs, etc. Brilliant.
  14. Well, I finally went and did it. I'm back at university in London and currently homeless, so the day after going drinking with a friend, I bought some fancy wheat and rye bread and a wedge of brie. Fried up a couple of sandwiches as per the instructions in this thread. It was glorious :drool But if you'll excuse me, I now have to go the gym and work off the ridiculous amount of buttery fried cheese currently clogging my arteries and speak to an addiction counsellor...
  15. I like THIS design, what is this an older movie concept? or ...? It's a piece of CG fan art I found using google images. Depressing, isn't it?
