Excellent. Have this planned as well, but I must agree: I think your repaint is the best I've seen so far. It looks excellent and using G-1 Grimlocks head was really a good idea.

(Oh, that Optimal Megatron thing is from the end of Beast Machines in which Megatron has built himself a copy of Optimal Optimus body (with his own head) to fight Primal.)

Oh right. We didn't get the Beast machines series over here (so I don't know how Starscream the Great knows about it) but we did have Optimal Optimus. Not my thing really, that particular toy, so I won't be doing that.

And I'm really flattered by your comments guys, especially as this is my first kitbash/repaint, although I have to say that I think 'Glitter Grimlok' by Griffith76 (which inspired this one) is probably still better due to the remolds he did. Full credit for that.

Finally finished my first ever kitbasht/repaint thingee.

I know it's a completely unoriginal idea. I wasn't planning to change the world with this, I just saw someone elses pics of a similar project and thought "I want that toy!" When I saw some Armada Predacons for $19.95(New Zealand dollars) I decided to do it. As far as I know though I'm the first to use a G1 head.

Sorry the pics aren't that great. I'm no photographer.

Robot mode (a bit blurry)

Here's another one, darker but a bit sharper.

Dino mode.

And a look at the turbine motor section.

I have put an Autobot heat-rub sticker where the old Beast Wars mold had it's sticker. I used my second to last Autobot one! I considered using a Decepticon one, cause I have seven of those left, but it just didn't seem right. I had to cut it down a bit though, those Beast Wars heat-rubs were alot smaller than the originals.

Here's what he looked like before I painted him...

I'm sure you'll agree the repainted version is a vast improvment. Far from perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, especially as it's my first go at doing one of these.

Thanks especially to Turbine and Griffith76 for the tips.

now thats a great looking grimlock  :thumb

god you've bumped this from a ways back haven't you gamera.

i like the silver paint, and the head, apart from that i prefer mine over it due to the extra detail i put into it, like paintint the points on his spint bits red.

Grimlock, badass, no matter whose body he steals!
