Could use some feedback on my stop motion project

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

For the past few weeks, I've been working on a stop motion project. A frame by frame recreation of the Prime versus Megatron fight. Now, I'm trying to make this pretty accurate and I was also planning on using chromokeying for the backgrounds. Now, the few tests shots I did sort of work, but I think I will have to reshoot the majority of what I have under better background conditions and better lighting. But part of me also likes what I have so far (not to mention not loosing 3 days of solid work). But I wouldn't mind some feedback as it goes. Granted, this only has 3 or so scenes and is pretty rough.

I've been using the following software:

Stop Motion Pro

Adobe Premiere

Adobe After Effects

Anywho, thanks for taking a quick look at it and appreciate any feedback =)

Only taking the motion into account cause I pay people to worry about backrounds and stuff...

Well you have the angles right, but I wouldn't use all Animated figures as well, it just doesn't look right.

I like that you started the charge, but you skiped the whole jump!?!

Spray paint some fishing line black and make some posts to tie off of out of some wire hangers, and you can pull it off. If your gonna do it, do it right.

Otherwise, it's a real nice start!!!

I like it. I think using all animated figures is fine. What are you planning on using for the back ground?

Oh I know. I've putting that scene off since it is very complex, and I haven't decided on the best way to approach it yet.

Well, I was going to used Flash and my Wacom tablet to draw out "simplified" and "stylized" representations based on the reference footage. I did a couple test shots, but that was where I started to get a little worried, since my background isn't producing as solid a green as I would of liked. So I got some new lighting to really add to it, but I just hope it will look ok.

And I will be using all animated, since those are all I got =p

Thanks for the feedback!

I look forward to seeing it finished.
