Stupid-sounding Japanese TF names

Recommended Posts

Names like Convoy, Meister, Lambor... They sound dumb to us, but maybe they sound cool to the Japanese. I was wondering it there were any Japanese TF collectors on the board who might be able to explain why Convoy is a cool name.

You know, by putting it into proper context!

These names are just the ones off the top of my head, I know there are worse ones.

just warning ya

Convoy- Word for truck.. well, actually, trucks, plural.

Lambor- Play on Lamborghini, which he is.

Meister.. play on Meistro-- his love for music, i believe. Not entirely sure on that one

The even better names are Sizbuilder, wing, train, and liner. Along with all of the King and Kaiser combiners.

Yeah you're right - it did sound questionable. Done.

Meister is kind of interesting, in that it's a German word, meaning "master" (I think - it's been a while since GER 101). So he's "The Master", but in a different language, which sounds kind of cool, except that over here when we see that word as a name we think of Rob Schneider as the copier guy from SNL...

Actually a convoy is a bunch of vehicles travelling together, doesn't have to be trucks necessarily... unless you're talking about a Japanese-adopted definition?

As for Lambor, yeah, I know it's referring to Lamborghini. I just wondered why it might sound neat in Japanese. I mean, in English, Chevror or Fordimus sounds kind of dumb, doesn't it?

Actually, "Meister" is German and means "master".

I thought Meister referred to what model porche he was

Am I the only one who's ever heard the term "Jazz-Meister"?

I've always associated with someone who is really really good at jazz or blues...

He's a Martini...."Agent Meister" is his "legal" decal.

none of the japanese names sound silly to me... but then again i probally watch more anime than would be considered healthy.
