Repainted future of Classics

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else bothered by all the apcoming repaints in the Classics 2.0/Universe line? I mean it's not like when Universe did repaints before, when it was just another line, it is now the toyline that is suppose to change G1 characters into modern form and it seems to be doing one heck of a lot of repaints.

I don't mean repaints like Cliffjumper repaint of Bumblebee, or Skywarp being a repaint of Starscream, I mean characters like Blaster and Springer being nothing but repaints of toys, and at that, repaints of toys that bairly or not at all resemble their G1 designs.

What I'm trying to say is that it's Classics, I want to see G1 Characters put into new molds that resemble their old molds, not G1 characters return to become repaints of previous Transformer toys.

And if Hasbro is going to make characters in the Classics 2.0 line repaints, then why not from other toylines aside from Cybertron? Don't get me wrong I think Cybertron's toys were great, but there has been more than enough Cybertron toy repaints. Can't we get Energon and RID repaints already?

I just scared that Classics is going to slowly become line of repaints when in my opinion every single G1 character deserves a fresh new mold.

I might get some of the repaints but they won't qualify as Classics. Cyberkeys and Minicons need to stay away from Classics.

I don't think every single g1 figure deserves a new mold :tflaugh .

I've been including non-Classics molds in my Classics collection since before the new Universe line existed: Energon Shockblast as Shockwave, Cybertron Soundwave as Soundwave, etc.

And I know lots of fans are doing the same thing, so I personally don't mind it if old molds get reused officially in the Classics banner. If you don't like 'em (and I don't like most of them), skip 'em. If you think they call to mind an older character properly, or just look cool as a new character, nab 'em.

And be realistic in your expectations. We know the Classics line won't be viable for Hasbro forever, and they won't be able to redo all your favorite G1 characters before the end, so be thankful for the molds we get and be prepared for the inevitable change in the marketplace that will require Hasbro to move their focus elsewhere.

Hobbes post holds much wisdom.. Hasbro has given us the tools to recreate the g1 line a hundred times over as we each see fit with multiple molds of many classic characters. The 2.0 line is a good gap filler for those ranks.

So, do you use Cybertron Soundwave in that line of thinking?

I use Titaium soundwave, but I bet the MP3 soundwave would be better. I rid myself of Cyb Soundwave.
