i need your advice

to be honest in my Opinion, G1 reissues suck :tdown , those things are completely stuck, no posablility at all, if i we're you i would collect alternators, or the nes series just what i like not all of them tho, but the best thing for you to collect is what you really like to get.

My advice would to fix up your old G1s, and also to get to collecting some of the alternators line. :thumb

shop around before buying, if you see a product for a high price you can most likely find them

If you're interested in nostalgia, then get G1 stuff.

But to be honest, a lot of them are pretty weak compared to the Alternators/Binaltechs

Some of the Energon stuff is very good. (Some of it stinks tho.....)

Get some g1 reissues, some Alternators, and maybe the odd Energon item.

Spending $$$ on old TF's is a bit risky, bearing in mind that they've started reissuing so many desirable TF's

Welcome back to the TF universe! First, IMO it depends on how much money and time that you want to invest. If you can afford to, consider buying some of the reissues of your favorite G1 TFs first.

Please note some are sold out and harder to find available for purchase, i.e. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave. However, sometimes they show up on evilbay. If you really want to get the originals that are not reissued like Fortress Maximus, Shockwave, Sunstreaker, make sure to ask for additional pics from sellers and check out their feedback/reputation on evilbay. Remember only pay what you are willing to pay and do not get caught up in the moment and in a bidding war.

Second, visit some of the online galleries at Remy’s and the Lucas Brothers over at Unicron.com. I suggest you look into specific TF lines beyond TF G1. I personally recommend the RiD toys, such as: RiD Optimus Prime, RiD Ultra Magnus, RiD Scourge, RiD Megatron, RiD Mach alert, RiD, Sideburn and RiD Brave Maximus.

Beyond RiD, consider Beast Wars aka BW, Armada and the current series Energon. Third, again, depending how important nostalgia is to you, consider the G1 reissues, but also look into the Alternators and Binaltech series, as well as the Energon series too. Not every figure in any of these series are winners, that is why it pays to do your research on what the fig looks like, whether it is poseable (if you care about articulation) and how much it costs if it is sold out.

Remember to pace yourself, many of these are on sale now. Lastly, remember to be mindful of your finances, it is too easy to spend beyond your means in restarting a collection. Good luck! :thumb

If you want to collect TF's then obviously you have something in your childhood which makes you think fondly of them.

Think of which ones you remember the best and get them so you can look at them again, but this time all glassy eyed.

If you can afford an original G1 figures then I've found that their boxes etc and the memories associated with them just give me so much more pleasure than the reissues, but it's all a matter or cash and whether you just want to collect and look at them or actually play with them.

RID (Robots In Disguise) is a great line and doesn't stray too far from the ideas / designs of G1, unlike Armada / Energon, as RID's alt modes almost all look like realistic cars etc, rather than the "fantasy" version of the future lines. They are still around at very sensible money.

And Alternators / Binaltech are in my opinion the best and most impressive transformers ever. Pay the extra for the Die Cast Metal Binaltechs for keeping / displaying, pay less for the alternators, but play and enjoy them.

But this is only my opinion, in the end, just find what would give you pleasure and buy and enjoy them.
