Hi all...been a lurker for quite a long time now and I finally got around to registering for this Transformer message boards. Been looking for a good Transformer discussion boards for a long time now, and the TFans boards kept coming up whenever I clicked on a link from my favorite Transformer information website (i.e. TFormers.com). Anyways, I thought I'd come here introducing myself and say hi to everyone. I am currently unemployed, so I'll be lurking/posting on here a lot since I have so much free-time in between job hunting :tfgrin

I am a 33 year old collector of Transformers and Gi Joe: ARAH since 1997. Unfortunately, since amassing and selling my collections off numerous times over the years, I am currently left with a very small collection. Right now, my TF collection consists of all the U.S. Classics line, except for Nerf Gun Megatron, G1 MIB Mirage, Encore MISB Optimus Prime, StarScream and Soundwave and a ravage figure that I got with the classics Soundwave before donating him to charity, except for the ravage figure. I just ordered the Encore Jazz figure, and I am expecting him any day now. I also have the entire G1 cartoon series, boot legged unfortunately. I do have an original rerelease of the Transformers Movie though. I am hoping that there will be a release of G1 Transformer cartoons on Blu-Ray since that is the new HD medium for movies :tftongue. My next huge Transformer purchase after I get a job is to get a G1 MIB Jetfire. I really like the Encore line because it gives me a fresh start to Reissue G1 collecting since I missed so many of the reissues before; and they come in their G1 boxes, which is a HUGE plus for me.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to getting in a lot of discussions about my favorite Toy Line of ALL TIMES. I am looking forward to meeting new people as well. Thank you.

welcome... fresh meat! :D

nice start... i'm actually trimming my collection down A LOT... want some TFs? :D

good luck on the job hunt.

Welcome to the fold.

Welcome and enjoy.

Thank you all. Yeah, I love Transformer collecting. Actually, it's all I think about and immerse myself in. Well, that and videogame entertainment. It's surprising that I have such a small collection, but I am so into this hobby. I tend to do more internet searching on Transformer related stuff than buying because it allows me to relish the glory days of my childhood and how great life was back then when all I cared about was trying to get a new Transformer/Gi Joe toy or catching the latest Transformer/Gi Joe episode. Plus, internet Transformer searching is FREE!!!

I just cannot wait until I have the income to allow myself to build up a nice collection again. This time, I am not going to sell off figures like I did in the past. In the late nineties, I had well over 40 figures. However, due to leaving my job and returning back to school at that time, I needed the money; so I had to ebay a lot of them except for the ones that were dear to my heart (i.e. Soundwave and Mirage). However, this time I will build up a collection of either Generation 1 or Reissues. I am looking forward too it :tfgrin

Ok, now I am rambling. Thanks again guys.

Welcome to the group!

I noticed you don't have any figures from the new movie - why not??

Also keep an eye out for the new TF: Animated stuff. It's pretty stylized, but its also filled with G1-Homage'y goodness!

Welcome Aboard! :thumb

Thank you. Yeah, I tried talking myself into the movie figures after the movie came out, but they're just not catching my fancy like the G1 and Classics lines have. I even purchased the Large Optimus Prime after the movie came out, but then sold him a few months later. I just don't like their heads, they're too "alieny" for me. I prefer more of the square heads with the visors that we are so used too. However, I am really excited about the new TF: Animated line. This is the first line that has my excited since the RiD line; which was the last line that I collected. I have even been watching the cartoon episodes online since I currently don't have extended cable. I am a G1 fan by heart, and I try to get figures that look very 'G1-ney'.

:wave

Glad your as excited for the animated line as a lot of people around here. IMO it looks outstanding, I don't think it will disappointed. The episodes for the most part have been pretty good, I too only have the option of watching them on line, can't wait for the dvd releases.

As for the previous lines, A/E/C. Not essential to anyone's collection but for the most part pretty well rounded with some awesome figs as well as homages to G1 throughout. :thumb

Welcome! :) Any pics of your collection?
